Hi! I’m Cassie, Jessica’s sister-in-law. I am a hair dresser, and along with doing hair I love make up! One thing I have been loving recently is Red Hot lips! Its huge this season, and all over the red carpet.. although some women are a little scared or think they can’t pull it off.. you can! Just follow these simple rules and you are set!
1. Go easy on the eyes:
Since you’re playing up your lips, you don’t want to play up your eyes as well. Pair your red lip stick with the lightest possible eye shadow. You don’t want to start looking like clown!
2. Don’t use red lip liner:
Even if you are using red lip liner, chances are they are not the exact same color, therefore you have a two-tone effect. If you have to use lip liner use a more natural color that is close to your skin color.
3. Prevent “Bleeding”:
Apply a little concealer to the border of your lips.
4. Use the right shade:
If your fair skinned, use blue-base tone.
If your more olive complexion, use a bright orange based red.
If your darker complexioned, use deep burgundy red.
5. Keep if off your teeth:
After you have applied it, put your finger in your mouth, pucker your lips around it and pull it out. Wallah!
I really love the lip sticks that stay on all day. I don’t want to keep applying. Once your done, you don’t have to worry about it again!
Here are a few of my favorites:
Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor. This stuff seriously stays on a long time. Like 10 hours or more. So be very careful when applying to get it right, because it does not come off easy! But once its on you’re good to go all day. And it comes with a conditioning shine balm on the opposite end, to keep your lips feelin’ nice and moisturized all day.

It really is smooth like it says and stay on fabulous!

Awesome post! I’m so picky about the way they “look” and yours is perfect! Love it! And…great info and topic. You’re a natural! I totally think red lips are hot but I don’t know if I have the guts to pull it off! I’ve really loved MAC lipglass but I usually just wear plain ole chapstick!

Is my husband the only one that hates it when his wife wears lipstick? He doesn’t even like the colorless glossy kind. I guess it’s because he wants my lips to be kissable all the time. I can’t tell you the last time I wore lipstick, but that’s okay, I’d rather get kisses from my husband.
I love red lips, too, but I don’t have a full pucker. I go for the purple-hued reds and it seems to work with my complexion a little better. I use Covergirl something and love it, although it tends to flake off. Definitely not a 10 hour brand. I’ll have to try these recommended here!
