Sexy Scarves

Scarves are a great accessory right now! They are easy to wear, are classic and can change your look in seconds. Now, how to wear one. There are lots of different ways to wear them-here are my favorites.
Bandana- perfect in the summer because of the lightweight material. Fold the scarf in half corner to corner. Lay the triangle on your chest with the point facing towards the floor, then wrap the other ends around your neck and tie. Then angle it so it’s not straight front and back.

Headband- First, put your hair in a temporary ponytail, leaving a few pieces down on the sides of your head to go under the tie. Then take a square scarf and fold corner to corner into a long skinny tie. Place the middle of the tie at the crown of your head, and tie a knot at the back of your neck. Then let your ponytail out and you are set!

Knotted- this one is most common right now, and a great accessory for men. To tie it, fold the scarf in half long ways, wrap it around the back or your neck, then pull the loose ends through the hole made by the fold.

Neckerchief- sooo Audrey Hepburn! More formal and looks best with solid colors. Fold the square scarf diagonally. Then tightly roll the material to form a long skinny tie. Lastly, tie the scarf around your neck with one final knot.

Here are some cute scarves for a good deal:

This Silk Jacquard Scarf from Urban Outfitters, got great reviews, and is $28. Comes in green and blue.

The AE Leaves Scarf. $19.50. It’s lightweight and fringed at the bottom.

The AE Rugby Scarf is my favorite! It is comfy and casual, and comes in gray or pink. $19.50

  2. Maybe I need to start going to places other than Wal-Mart, football practice, and to pick up kids from school so I can wear one of these cute scarves! I love them!

    Thanks, Jess!

  3. Thanks, Cee! I love that scarf you sent the link for…great prices on them too!

  4. Thanks for this post….I never feel confident with the way I wear them! Mariel….I think you should rock the scarf anywhere you go. I have discovered as a new mom I don’t get out much…so my GOOD clothes don’t get saved anymore! I wear them anywhere! I may get some wierd looks in Wally World but I feel darn good….besides…its better to be over dressed than under dressed!

  5. I have a couple of pretty scarves, but didn’t know how to wear them. You’ve given me the confidence now..thanks!! I love scarves, and I’m glad they’re back in style!!

  6. Thanks Tiffany! I totally would get all dressed up for Wal-Mart if I wasn’t coming right back home to mop the floor, fold laundry, and change bums! I love my lounge pants for doing household chores! But, I sure love those days when I get to dress up…luckily my hubs and I go out every weekend…

  7. Bling a Ling, love this blog, love these scraves! Afraid of wearing them… But love you anyway!
