If you’re willing to do half the work (cutting)…you can ship the pieces off to Ticche & Bea and have it sewn for you, obviously this is much cheaper. They also sell kits for doing it completely yourself.
Maybe you just have one or two special pieces that you want to save….frame them! Just buy a cute frame, hot glue or use double sided tape to adhere to clothing to the backboard. Easy and instant art!
If you want to include little booties or items that are bigger, just get a collage/display frame…you could even include special items, such as: hospital bracelet, jewelry, copy of birth certificate, foot prints, a rattle, picture of child in that outfit, etc.
The best way to store clothing is to first launder the items then wrap them in acid-free tissue paper. This prevents them from changing color or turning yellow over the years. Place them in a tightly sealed box (not cardboard) and store them in a cool, dry, and dark place.

Great ideas! My mother in law is a great sewer…maybe she needs a project?:)
fabulous! I want to make a blanket out of my little mans clothes. There are just some clothes that are way to small for him, but when I see some them Im flooded with memories. Like the outfit he wore home from the hospital etc. Great ideas! Thanks
I had a memory quilt made for my daughter last year for her 3rd birthday.. I found a wonderful woman on etsy who did it for a very reasonable price.. she added pictures, headbands, socks, and any other outfit we just couldn’t part with.. She also added all her firsts & her name, birthday, weight & hight.. along with a lot of other very personal touchs! it is the most amazing quilt I have ever seen. Best of all my daughter’s cute little things are not stuffed in a box in the attic! I’d have to say it was the best money I have sent in a while! Well worth every penny!
Do you have any tips on how to preserve & store my wedding dress? Right now it’s just taking up basically an entire closet in my MIL’s house, and I’d love to make sure it never gets damaged!
This made me laugh I tend to keep all my childrens cloths, but I think you are right I will go through them and pick out a few to keep and give the rest away.
such a good post. Thanks.
