Hello Everyone! I’m so excited to be guest blogging today. Just to give a little introduction about me. My name is Miranda and I am a stay at home mom to a soon to be 5 year old little boy and wife of a hard working husband. This year we celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Wow..I’m getting old. hee hee. This is my cute little family.
Aside from being a full time mom and wife, I am the owner and creator of the following business: Today’s Giveaway…featuring giveaways almost daily, product reviews and family fun!
We are also hoping to someday expand our family through adoption, so when you have a free minute, stop by our adoption blog and pass the word along. We need to find this little guy a brother or sister…or both!
With Valentines quickly approaching, I thought I’d share with you a simple treat your children can share with their classmates, family or neighborhood friends. And the best part…it’s not candy. YEAH!
Valentine Fun:
With the help of my son, we were able to pull this off from start to finish in about 15 minutes. We started with the following ingredients:
{If you don’t have a mixer, simply use a bowl and spoon.}
No Fuss Playdough:
1 cup cold water
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Food coloring (we chose red)
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Food coloring (we chose red)
Step One: In a large bowl, mix together water, salt, oil and a few drops of food coloring.
Step Two: Mix together flour and cornstarch. Then add 1/2 cup at a time to the liquid, stirring constantly.
Step Three: Knead for a few minutes with flour on your hands.
Once the Playdough was ready, I simply tore off small sections, rolled them in a ball, and put them in a cellophane bag. My son is now an expert ball roller. To finish it off, tie the end closed with a ribbon and add a cute tag.
And, Ta Da…the Finished Product…

And of course, we can’t forget about the left over playdough. So we dug out the cookie cutters and my son had something fun to do for the next hour.
This is a great project to include the help of your kids. This was a simple and fun treat to make and I’m sure will be a HIT with all of the kids! Enjoy!

That’s a perfect idea for your kid’s friends! It would be a total hit in any school class, great suggestion!
Thanks so much, Miranda! It was fun having you
