We love Utah and have found some great places to eat, shop, or catch a show. They range from Brigham City to Salt Lake City, and are all within about an hour drive of each other. So, whether you live here or could visit in the future, these are some places that you don’t want to miss!Brigham City
Idle Isle – 41 South Main Street Brigham City, UT
For the best homemade peach pie and hand dipped chocolates under the sun, make a stop in Brigham City at this quaint little restaurant, it is totally worth it! https://idleisle.com/pages/aboutus.html
Perry
Maddox – 1900 South Highway 89 Perry, UT
Is known as “Utah’s Family Gathering Place”. Located near the mouth of Sardine Canyon, this steakhouse (and drive in) is one of a kind. They serve up some deliciously huge servings of food that you cannot help but finish! All meals in the steakhouse are complemented with bread served with raspberry butter that is to die for! If you are passing through and only have time for a quick meal, enjoy the drive in fries and onions rings! Hungry yet? http://maddoxfinefoods.com/
Ogden
Ume Boutique – 186 25th Street Ogden, UT
Ume is located on Ogden’s historic and very cute 25th street. They have items ranging from one of a kind jewelry to earth friendly t-shirts and handbags. The items are a little more pricey, but this is the kind of place you go to find the piece that makes your otherwise normal looking outfit fabulous! There is also a waiting area for the husband/significant other stocked with pop and sports magazines. www.umedesigns.com
Union Station Grill – 2501 Wall Avenue Ogden, UT
Union Station Grill is situated inside the Union Train Station at the bottom of 25th street. (Clearly, as you can tell, my favorite street in Ogden) This place has a cute and cozy atmosphere with fireplaces and an old fashioned feel! The beer battered onions rings are to die for, so make sure to order those bad boys for your appetizer! http://www.uniongrillogden.com
Shin Sei – 154 25th Street Ogden, UT
This is a swank little sushi bar located…you guessed it!…on 25th street in Ogden. For the complete sushi experience you have to request a private room, which have the ground level tables and floor cushions to sit in. It basically like you’re in Japan, but without the 14 hour plane ride! Best spider rolls I’ve found in Utah, and trust me I’ve been around.

Motor Vu – 5368 South 1050 West Ogden, UT
Not much of a looker, but this is our favorite place to go with our hubbies to have a little snuggle time. We love to pile up the blankets and pillows in the back of the truck and take off for a night of entertainment and relaxation. A word to the wise…take a vehicle with a trusty battery (that’s how you listen to the movie) or you will be stranded in a large empty parking lot at two in the morning…not fun. http://www.motorvu.com
Soul & Bones BBQ - 319 24th Street Ogden, UT
If you’re looking for some real smokehouse BBQ look no further. We consider ourselves BBQ connoisseurs, and this place knocked our socks off! The meat practically melts in your mouth! http://www.blogger.com/www.soulandbones.com
The Oaks – 750 Ogden Canyon Road Ogden, Utah
You have to eat here, especially if you are in Utah for the summer. This is a place to dine outside, and just relax as the sound of the Ogden river bubbling past takes you to a world of no worries. But seriously, this place rocks! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lunch, have the Pastrami sandwich with raspberry lemonade. Mmm!
Kaysville
Sweet Cake – 237 W 200 N Kaysville, UT
BEST GLUTEN FREE BAKERY! Yes your heard me correctly, there is a bakery that is dedicated to just making treats that are free of any gluten, and they actually taste good! We have searched long and hard for good wheat free treats, some are so so, but this place takes the cake! (pun intended) A must try: the chocolate caramel brownies. Heaven on Earth. www.sweetcakebakeshop.com
Salt Lake City
Siegfried’s Delicatessen – 20 West 200 South Salt Lake City, UT
This little German deli is located right in the heart of Salt Lake City. This place is as authentic as it gets serving bratwurst, hot potato salad, and our favorite…wienerschnitzel! They also have German candies and pastries for sale…MOUTH WATERING! http://www.siegfriedsdelicatessen.biz/
Spoon Me – 532 East 400 South Salt Lake City, UT
The place to go for a guilt free treat! Kind of like Red Mango and Pink Berry, but in our opinion much more tasty and fun! They started in Salt Lake and became so popular that they are now expanding to surrounding states. Count yourself as lucky if you get one of these bad boys in your town! Spoon me has three delicious frozen yogurt flavors (go for the acai berry), and about twenty different kinds of fresh fruit and cereals.
Desert Star Playhouse – 4861 South State Street Murray, UT
This theater is like one you have never experienced, A blast for the whole family! Just a side note: don’t get the food! Overpriced and tastes like it was nuked in the microwave, just sneak some grub in. Other than that this place has everything going for them.
Desert Star specializes in satires such as:
-Twi-lite: I was a teenage vampire
-Pirates of the Car-rib-eee-an: yo ho ho and a bottle of fun!
-Beverly Hillbillies 90210: You might be a redneck if…
-Welcome Back Potter: Harry and Hermione’s high school reunion
-Christmas Vacation: The bipolar express.
During the show the audience interacts by booing the bad guy, applauding to hero, etc. After the show there is a short sing-a-long and even a spotlight for birthday and anniversaries. If you are driving through Salt Lake the Desert Star is a must see Utah original!
Anniversary Inn – Several Locations, Check out the web site!
For a unique, romantic, and fun getaway, book a room at the Anniversary Inn. Imagine yourself sleeping in a tree house, or waking up on Juliet’s balcony. This bed and breakfast is unlike any other. Do not feel guilty dropping a hint, ladies, to your man about this fantastic place! Please check out their web site pictures!
Banbury Cross – 705 S 700 E Salt Lake City, UT
In our opinion, best doughnuts in Utah! Located on a busy street in a cute little cottage-like building, Banbury Cross has rows and rows of the tastiest sweet treats you can find! They have everything from doughnuts to muffins. Personal favorite, the Bear Claws!
Hale Center Theater – 3333 South Decker Lake Drive West Valley City, UT 84119
This theater is classy, romantic, and very affordable! With a small stage, any production seen here is very intimate. You feel as though you are living the story. This is a great place to take your family. Great childhood memories here. Footloose, all time favorite! And do not miss their annual classic productions of A Christmas Carol. Now playing, Fiddler on the Roof. http://www.halecentretheatre.org/index.php

Country burger, fry sauce, frosty mug of root beer, strawberry shake = best hamburger joint in the Beehive state.

Come winter, enjoy millions (literally) of Christmas twinkle lights in every color you can imagine. You will not leave disappointed.Park City
Bandits Bar & Grill – 440 Main Street Park City, Utah
Eating out in Park City can get very pricey, but if you want good barbeque and a fun Western atmosphere, then Bandits is your place! We recommend the Pulled Pork Plate. http://www.banditsbbq.com/
Park Silly Market – Park City’s Main Street
If you are in Park City during a summer weekend you definitely need to check out this fun ‘silly’ market! Vendors from all over the place come to strut their stuff – and you get to benefit! This market is loaded with everything from food to accessories. It also comes equipped with live bands. This is located near Park City’s Main Street. You will love it! http://www.parksillysundaymarket.com/
Best pizza in Utah! This is the best location to experience Davanza’s pizza. They have reasonable prices and super good pizza and fries. Enjoy both dipped in fry sauce, and then take a jog up and down Park City’s Main Street. Go eat here!

Wowzwers! I expected about 3 or 4 places. Not this many! If I’m ever in Utah, I will have to see some of these places. Thanks!
Wow great job Melinda and Chelsea! I grew up in Utah and go there several times a month now… and I have only been to a few of those places listed. What an awesome array of suggestions never tried. Great job!

I LOVE Holy Smoke BBQ in Layton! It’s our favorite BBQ stop…even better that they have hush puppies, okra, fried pickles, and homemade mac and cheese! Yum!
