It’s Roberta again! Remember me from my awesome running and silverware wind chime post? I am so lucky to be posting again! I am the happy stay at home mom of two cute kids and wife to a hottie. I have an 8 year old princess and a 5 year old handsome prince. Here is a pic of me and my precious girly. Today’s post is all about saving money and teaching you to pamper yourself. This post will make your feet super cute! When our feet are cute we feel cute right? My daughter begs me to glitter her toes all the time!
We have all heard of glitter toes right? They are pretty, and last a long time but they are expensive, and impossible to get off! I actually had two of my toenails fall off last summer because of them! And I was so sick of the same color I could have died. Well I am going to teach you how to do your very own glitter toes. What is nice about these is it is not the hard acrylic that can be so hard on our toenail bed. It’s good old fashioned clear nailpolish! So you can change them whenever you want. They last 2-3 weeks, look just as cute as the acrylic kind and are SUPER CHEAP!
What you’ll need:
Clear nail polish (if you want super-duper sturdy, go to a beauty supply and get an awesome topcoat. I use Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat) But any clear topcoat will work.
Glitter– yes, just plain old craft glitter! You can buy glitter at Sally Beauty Supply for $.89 a vile or go to Roberts with a %50 off coupon and buy a glitter kit. (They have like 50 different colors in the kits)
Over a paper plate or piece of card stock apply the clear coat to your big toenail sprinkle some glitter on, let sit while you put clear coat on each remaining toenail. Then sprinkle glitter on the remaining four toes. Pat the top of your foot to remove excess glitter. Repeat this process on your other foot.
Repeat the above process on the original foot. Put a clear coat on top of your glittered toes, then sprinkle glitter on top. Pat to get off excess glitter and finish off with a top coat. Dump remaining glitter on paper plate back into the original glitter container.
So, this will basically be the process:
This takes about 5 minutes! Remember to let them dry completely! You can do them for a friend, daughter, Mother, sister or on yourself! Enjoy looking hot in those new, cute, inexpensive glitter toes!
