3 cups water
1 46 oz. can pineapple juice
1 12 oz. can frozen lemonade
3 cups water
3 2-liters ginger ale
Directions: In a blender, combine bananas, sugar, and 3 cups water. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large bowl and stir in pineapple juice. Blend in orange juice concentrated, lemonade concentrate, and 3 additional cups of water. Divide into three gallon size Ziploc bags and freeze until solid. (At least 1 full day) Remove containers from freezer 30 minutes before serving. Squeeze bags to separate slush into smaller clumps. Place slush in punch bowl or large pitcher and pour in 1 2-liter of ginger ale for each banana slush portion.

hmmm… that looks delicious… I’ll have to run to the store because I think my bananas are past the ripe stage… they may even be past the useful for banana bread stage -
MMM MM MM mmm MMMM!!! Great pictures. I want some! Now, I do have a sister around here who can cook. Maybe I’ll get her to make me some!

Could you use diet sprite instead of ginger ale?
Sure, I would imagine diet sprite would be fine or diet squirt (do they have diet ginger ale??) It would just give it more of a diet flavor, minus some calories…which that part is good. However, I don’t know if you would be doing yourself too big of a favor because all of the other ingredients have lots of sugar and calories! What’s a few more, right?? Okay, probably “wrong”.

This looks so good! Can we feature it on our blog in its own post in May? If you don’t want us to please let us know!
I grew up on a similar recipe that my mom would make every summer and keep in the freezer…only it didn’t have bananas. It had the lemonade, OJ, and pineapple juice. She would freeze it in ice cube trays and then transfer them to ziplock bags. When we wanted slush, we would just fill a glass with the frozen slush cubes, chop it with a fork, add some sprite, and wallah! Delish. I might try it like that with this recipe…the banana sounds good!
Had this at my wedding in 1979. Yummy!
Nice! A recipe so good that it has stood the test of time…and brings back memories! That’s awesome.
How many will it serve?
Eeek. I can’t remember, and it obviously depends on the size of the cup. But, I would say about 10.
Thank you!
