I love Easter! I love Easter dinner, doing an Easter Family Night, watching the kids find their baskets, and the egg hunt! Spring time is the best…assuming the Utah snow lays off, fingers crossed.
I’ll have lots of Easter ideas for you this week, but I figured we would start with the Easter eggs and baskets. It’s time we start thinking about those things, and if there’s anything to order, better hurry! (Amazon is a great place to order from because of their fast shipping. I buy all my diapers and wipe-ups from them so I can earn the free 2 day shipping through the Amazon Mom program.)
Anyway, here’s a list of things that would be great for Easter egg and basket stuffers…
Storytime makes cute and good quality finger puppets. They’re fun because each set goes along with a specific story.
If you have time, try making your own! Here’s some cute patterns:
Silly Bandz would make great egg stuffers, especially if you split them up! My kids would go for the Barbie or Marvel.
My boys would love a secret writing pen to keep their “club” agenda a super-secret from Mom and sisters. Bonus, it’s a two pack…one for each of them 🙂
These animal hand tattoos are so fun! They come in an 8 pack, perfect to split between the baskets or stuff into Easter eggs.
Wikki Stix are always fun. My kids love having them at church. I love them because it keeps them quiet. They could easily be rolled up and stuffed in eggs.
What kid doesn’t like strawberry or chocolate milk? These Got Milk Straws have flavored beads inside of them, flavoring the milk while you drink. Cool!
Letter Crayons, come in a pack of 10…
or melt your own crayons in these silicone molds!
My favorite place to get Easter candy is Cracker Barrel! Mmmmm….green beans….yes, you know the place, right off the side of the freeway. They have soooo much cool, vintage candy! There’s lot of super cute knick-knacks and toys too. Literally, you can get all your Easter shopping done there.
I know some mom’s stuff quarters or change in some of the eggs. It’s also fun to use gift dollars that you can get at different restaurants around town.
For my little girls, I like to stuff the eggs with mini nail polishes, earring stickers, cheap jewelry, or chapstick.
For the boys, I’ll stuff the eggs with slimy gak, silly putty, toy cars, Lego people or trading cards (extra large eggs).
Another really cute idea that I heard is to make your own coupons to stuff in the plastic eggs. Like, “1 hour late to bed,” “Date with Mom or Dad,” “No chores for the day,” “Pick the meals for the day,” etc.
Not feeling the candy thing? You don’t think bouncing-off-the-walls is cute? You could always stuff the eggs (or just some of the eggs) with nutritious (or just less bad-for-you) goodies…maybe goldfish crackers, mini raisin boxes, nuts, fruit snacks, sunflower seeds, etc.
I would love to hear about any of your favorite things to stuff in the plastic eggs!
