So, I woke up to a surprise yesterday morning…a new blog design! I wasn’t expecting it to be done so soon. So, I spent the day scrambling, trying to get everything put in it’s place. It’s almost done…just a few little things. Ooh, and I’ll get my new buttons up, so you can switch them out on your blog…hint, hint.
Forgive me for not having a fun idea for you today. But, I thought I would give a big shout-out to my awesome designers. I really couldn’t have found better people to put this together.
My new logo was designed by the one and only, Steve Laing. I love it! The logo is exactly what I was hoping for…and it’s my favorite color green. That’s a bonus. It’s kinda a funny story, how I ended up using him. I knew Steve, and his awesome wife, from my old neighborhood. He designed my husband’s Wangsgard Construction logo, back in the day. So, I figured, he should design mine too. I schmoozed him and got a great deal. But, I didn’t realize how good of a deal he was giving me until I looked at his web site and realized he has really moved his way up in the world, since I had seen him last. He has done work for Mountain Dew, Nokia, Juicy Fruit, Mobil….hello. “Or so she says…” blends right into those credentials, perfectly. Right?? Come on, say it. Actually, I felt like such a nerd for even asking him…I didn’t realize he was such a big shot! Anyway, he did fabulous and if you need a logo, he’s the one. Tell him I sent ya, you want the “Mariel Discount.” He’ll hook you up, I asked him.
My blog was designed by Mr. Dan Pearce, himself. Author of only one of the biggest blogs, ever…Single Dad Laughing. I’m hoping some of his mad skills will rub off on me, now that I have his fingerprint on my blog. Dan was so patient with me and had ideas up the whazoo to take my blog to the next level. It looks so yummy now! So clean, fresh, happy…I really, really like it! Dan and I were actually on Good Things Utah the same day. He was talking about his rise to freakin stardom, and I was doing glitter toes. But, it was cool. I saw him paying close attention, and I have it documented that he went home and glittered up his toes. Or, maybe he just said that to make me feel good. Either way, he’s great and super talented. Maybe you should buy his new book, The Real Dad Rules, to show your appreciation that you don’t have to look at my cluttered blog anymore. It really would be a perfect Father’s Day gift.
Anyway, I hope you like it…I hope to have everything squared away real soon!
By the way, thanks for reading my blog. Thanks for sharing on my blog! It always makes me smile to get your sweet emails, post comments, Facebook comments, etc. I really feel like I’ve made so many blog buddies from this. One of these days, I’ll plan something, and we’ll get together!
Have a great day!
