Sweet. I love when it’s my turn. I can’t get enough of rambling on my own blog. So, here are some things that I’m currently LOVING…hopefully, they will give you some ideas for Mother’s Day gifts…
Gift Ideas for Women:
I think this perfume sampler is the greatest idea! I gave away a couple this past Christmas. The reason I love it, is because not only does the recipient get to try out several different popular perfumes, but it comes with a gift certificate to redeem for a full size bottle of their favorite, from the box! Plus, it’s not a bad deal…$42 for a 5 piece set, plus the gift certificate. There are a couple samplers to choose from, as well.
I’ve mentioned before that you will rarely see me in jeans. I know. Someone call, “What Not to Wear”! Actually, yes. Please do! I would love to blow $5,000 bucks on new clothes…or, is it $3,000? I can’t remember. Anyway, I’ll wear jeans and get all cute, when I’m going out with the hubs, or to church. But, on a daily basis, which consists of cleaning and cooking, I’m all about comfort and wearing clothes that won’t make me cry if they get barfed on. So, as you can imagine, my lounge pants collection is pretty huge. It’s a little ridiculous. Anyway, I don’t want to look like a total frump, just a cute frump. So, I always pull out my trusty favorite, the Express Yoga Pant. Ahhh…they’re comfy, they’re long enough, and they have an attractive shape. I don’t super love the different color band, but it actually doesn’t really show, when I have a shirt on…which is never. Just kidding. I do wear shirts. I love to give these pants as a gift to my friends who are stressed. 🙂 That, with a great book. Perfect. Or, I like to give them to my sister-in-laws that have babies and are dying for comfort after their long pregnancy. Or, they’re great for gals…like me. $39 – $42.
I recently bought this pricey Kitchenaid Hand-Mixer. It was super cute, and expensive. I thought, “Hey, it’s expensive. I bet I’ll love it.” And, you take advice from me?? Anyway, that was so dumb. The thing was totally slow and could barely whip me up some whipped cream! I gave it away, for free. This time I did some good ole fashioned research and was determined not to be swayed by cute colors, and then I saw this pink hand mixer from Cuisinart, and was totally swayed. But, luckily the reviews checked out and I decided to give it a whirl. This is literally the best blender I have ever had. I love it. It has a slow setting that is slow enough and a fast one that is fast enough. You wouldn’t think that would hard to find in a mixer, but it is. Plus, it’s pink. $49
I have been through my fair share of strollers. But, I’ve never splurged on a jogging stroller, until now. Now, that I’m probably on my last baby. 🙁 It’s funny, but doesn’t it seem that you need several different kinds of strollers for different occasions? You need a skinny one to maneuver through the mall. You need a double stroller for Disneyland, when your toddler wants to hitch a ride with the baby. You need a jogging stroller for jogging. Ya know. So, I’ve mentioned that I love the Sit-N-Stand type strollers for when you have a baby and a toddler. It comes in so handy! It’s also skinny enough to make your way through crowds and malls. But, my newest love is this Schwinn Jogging Stroller that I just got. Ahhh…it turns on a dime. It has four, count them 4, cup holders! And, a hefty basket underneath. The seat is super cushy and the canopy is nice and sturdy. I sound like a salesperson, but I love this stroller. I even think it’s skinny enough that I could use it for my non-jogging moments, which is almost always. I wish I would have bought this several babies ago! $199
Is it lame to love a water bottle? So, I know it sounds like I collect a lot of weird things, based on things I’ve shared with you before (yoga pants, mugs…even though I don’t drink coffee/tea or hot chocolate, swimsuits, strollers, pretty much everything.) Yes, ‘pretty much everything’ would be an accurate way to put it. Good thing my husband is a carpenter and builds me lots of shelves. Otherwise, I might be on Hoarders. But, at least I’ll look cute, after being on What Not to Wear. Anyway, so to add to that list, I tend to collect water bottles. It makes Dan crazy! He’s like, “How can you get excited about water bottles?” And, I’m like, “How can you NOT?? Check this one out. It’s got the wide mouth opening, it’s BPA free, it’s got an attached lid so the kids don’t lose it, it’s a pretty color….” And, on and on. In that particular instance, I would have been talking about my newest favorite water bottles, by Nalgene. Hello, they’re the best….for now. I have a cupboard full of water bottles and I cannot find the lids were at least half of them. My kids take them outside, and I never see them again. Just one reason why I love Nalgene…the lid is attached, baby. I also love the wide mouth because it’s so annoying trying to get my ice in a skinny opening. Lastly, these bottles ares super sturdy. They pull in amazing reviews by campers and athletes, and me. I love the 32 oz. size, but I recently decided to get some of the 16 oz., because they fit in my stroller (above) and in the car cup holders. Although, not the most exciting Mother’s Day present, it would be fun paired with something, like the stroller (I know, expensive), or from the other post this week…the foam roller, Turbo Fire workout DVDs, or Brooks Running Shoes.
Olay Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
After a dry winter, my favorite thing is Olay’s Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit. It’s basically one of those scrubby things you do on your face, but the reason I love this one is because the grit is coarse enough to slough off dead skin cells, and fine enough to do an awesome job. My face always feels SO soft after I use it. Also, if it matters to you, it gets tons of AMAZING reviews. Ladies are saying they love it better than professional treatments. They love that it gives them a great deep clean and doesn’t make them break out. Anyway, you can read the reviews, here. I gave this kit ($21) to a couple friends for Christmas, along with Olay’s super popular $22 electric cleansing brush, that is compared to the Clarisonics, that are over a hundred bucks.
Anyway, hope that give you some good ideas!
