Fried Apple Topping

Ingredients

  • 2 apples
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and core your apples.
  2. Melt butter in the pan. (Over medium heat) After the butter has melted, sprinkle the brown sugar over the butter and add the apples. Stir the apples and coat them in the butter and brown sugar. Continue stirring and when the mixture forms a syrup, add the cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir.
  3. Reduce heat, and continue to cook until the apples are fork tender and the syrup has thickened slightly.
  4. Remove skillet from heat and let cool for a minute. Then serve over vanilla ice cream, or eat plain.
