Welcome back! Today we’re kicking off with gift ideas for boys, ages 3 to 6…
We were recently at the Children’s Museum in Salt Lake, and my kids literally would not leave the building area until they got a turn with the Magformers. And, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds…kids were swarming this table and never leaving. I guess there’s just something fun about building with magnetic shapes…and when it came our turn, we agreed!
For your mini mechanic, the Battat Take Apart vehicles get rave reviews! The power screwdriver includes 3 different tips to take the airplane apart and put it right back together. Reviewers say this is a favorite among their 3 to 5 year old boys. The airplane set has 25 pieces, the truck set has 34, the hummer set has 25, and the roadster set has 22.
If junior is into cars and trucks, the Mindscope Neo Tracks is a clear favorite. Reviewers love that they are flexible, easy for kids to put together and take apart, and it’s easy to change the shape of the tracks. There’s no wrong way to do it! Each set comes with 11 feet of track.
As soon as I figure out the right trees to use in my yard, I want a zipline! My kids (and all the neighbor kids) would be in heaven…I just know it. I love that this one, the Slackers Zipline Kit, has the seat option, making it easier and safer for the younger kids. P.S. My son just walked into the room and said, ‘Oh, those things are sweet! I want a zipline!’ So, there you go. My kids keep thinking they’re catching me Christmas shopping, but no…just working on the blog. 🙂
Fisher Price TRIO sets are perfect for this age! They’re easier than Legos, but cool enough to build some sweet things! There are loads of sets to choose from, and it’s nice to be able to choose one that suits your son’s interests…super heroes or ‘Super Friends‘ (like this Batman Bat Cave), Hot Wheels, Fire Engines, Castles and Knights, and Construction.
I’m not sure if boys ever grow out of swords. Even dads and uncles like to get in on the action. Nerf swords are always great because they don’t do too much damage, and this N-Force Vendetta Sword is a reviewer favorite. It can be either two swords or they can attach to each other for some major butt-kicking.
I hadn’t heard of these Mighty Machines DVDs, until my friend mentioned how much her son LOVES them. After looking them up and reading the reviews, I’m sold. Not only are they engaging, but educational too! Plus, I was impressed with the low price.
Hope that gives you some gift ideas for your boys, ages 3 to 6!
