Hi there! I’m Michaela and I blog over at my design blog, Michaela Noelle Designs. I love all things beautiful- pretty houses, interior design, yummy recipes, fashion and fun hair do’s!

Today, I’m here sharing my {Almost} No Heat Curls!

Let’s get started…

Materials: Thin, elastic headband.

Step 1: Get your hair a little damp {and make sure your hair is not previously straightened, or the curls won’t hold}

Step 2: Put the elastic headband around your head like a halo, partly over your forehead. {think like the boho headband look}

Step 3: Get a section of hair and twist away from your face like so:

Step 4: Loop the twist around and through the headband. Add hair to your next twist and repeat looping it around the headband until you’re out of hair!

This is what the back will look like:

Step 5: Go to sleep!

Step 6: In the morning, take out the head band and run your fingers through the twisty-curls. Don’t worry- they will relax after a few minutes! When I took mine out I was Shirley Temple(:

Here’s where I kind of cheated: When I take my hair out of the headband, it’s a little bit frizzy and the top layer in the back isn’t as curly as the front. I took my curling iron {hence the almost no heat curls title} and did 4-5 spiral curls in the back to make it look even.

Here’s the finished look:

Viola! It was easy, didn’t damage my hair and takes virtually no time. To view the original video tutorial on youtube, go here.

*Disclaimer: I talked with a friend who said this didn’t work for her hair, as she has super thick and coarse hair. May not work for everyone, but to get best results, be sure your hair is lightly damp before twisting, add some styling product in when you take it out, and touch up with curling iron if necessary*

So…are you going to try it?! Good luck!

Have a wonderful day 🙂

    Love these….the only thing I don’t love is the giant headband mark on my forehead in the morning that takes an hour+ to go away 🙁

    I love this concept and it works for all my friends! but when I did it, my waist length hair was SUPER curly and frizzy, barely past my shoulders :/ it looked like african american hair, and as much as I love that kind of hair, as a little blonde white girl, I can’t pull it off at alll. It kind of looked like this :

    Thanks for having me! 🙂 Just show the reader knows below, you can avoid the headband mark by pushing it back in a regular headband position…that’s what I do and it works great-no mark! 🙂 xo Michaela
