What? You have to bring a dessert to Thanksgiving dinner and if you hear anymore about pumpkins, you’ll barf?? Okay, easy. Let me help you.
Well, first…let me give you the fascinating background on this dessert. You will love this story so much that you will want to put it in book form, share it with your children, and your children’s children. Here it is:
Once upon a time, my brother, Logan, and I had a serious crush on Chili’s Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie. It made us really happy. It was the topic of many conversations and the focus of all of our dreams. But, Chili’s was kinda far away…there was always a long wait…and it’s hard to order JUST dessert, thus expensive. So, I set out on a quest to satisfy Logan and I by making it myself. I scoured the internet and found lots of promising leads, recipes with the exact title. But, it only took someone with half a brain (me) to know just by looking at it that it would taste nothing like our Chili’s favorite. I tried several recipes claiming to be the real deal, but no luck.
One day, I was frolicking through Wal-Mart and decided I wanted a new cake pan. Bought one, came home and peeled the paper off that was on the bottom. Lo and behold, there was a recipe on this paper with a picture. The picture looked amazingly similar to Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie. “It can’t be…,”I mumbled to myself. But, it looked so, so right. So, I made it. I tasted it and said…”Mmm….almost. Gosh darn-it.” Feeling depressed, heart-broken, and suicidal, I pulled out the vanilla ice cream and decided I was gonna get fat. I plopped it on top of my un-Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie and drizzled caramel all over the top. I took one bite and about pooped my pants. I grabbed the phone, called Logan and proudly exclaimed “I have it! I have Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie!” Logan rushed over and together we enjoyed heaven, in the comfort of my own home. I have since been to Chili’s, ordered the Paradise Pie…and I must say, I like mine better!
Now, wipe your tears…let’s get to business…
You will need: 1 1/2 cups butter, 3 cups firmly packed brown sugar, 6 eggs, 3 tsp. vanilla, 3 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 2 cups chopped walnuts, 2 cups milk chocolate chips.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease a sheet pan. In a large bowl, combine sugar and melted butter; beat with an electric mixer.
Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla; mix well. (Those are my sister’s ugly blue fingernails. Although, her vanilla-pouring skills are second to none.)
Pour batter in prepared pan. Bake…well, I can’t remember how long to bake it…but around 40 minutes or more (until the center is totally cooked through). Insert a toothpick and it should come out clean.
Now, this is imperative: You MUST warm up the cut blondie (if not still warm), top with ice cream and caramel sauce for an out-of-this-world experience. The caramel sauce is an essential ingredient for this recipe…do not let me down. (I usually just buy the ice cream topping that comes in a squirt bottle…)
There you go, everyone will love you.

Good question! It’s the bakers half-sheet, roughly 16×12.
