Keba is the owner, head chef, grill master, business dude & promoter of A Bite Truck. Most importantly, he’s daddy to 2 hilarious kids, Sasha Bean (5 years) and Lili Pants (20 months.) He left his miserable 8-5 desk job to follow his dreams of becoming a chef. This teaches the monkeys a few things, most notably 1) following your dreams is hard work but always worth it, and 2) how to budget. He enjoys sacking out with the kids, watching cartoons (which is good, because mommy won’t) and playing at the park.
Here are a few of my husband’s favorite things, and some fun ideas I found for Father’s Day gifts:
Being in the food biz, a food scale is necessary. Even the home cook needs one to accurately measure ingredients (plus the kids MAY have broken our home kitchen scale weighing their toys . . .)
A trusty quick-read thermometer makes safe cooking simple for all types of cooks. The Thermapen is fast, pocket-perfect and grill-ready.
This man LOVES some bold coffee. These two from Kicking Horse (Canada) are strong and flavorful.
Because he fancies himself having time to actually work out, he wants the Nike+ Fuelband. Perhaps he is planning on taking up running??
Because every dad can choose to be a superhero, get him the keychain to go with the utility belt he secretly has.
Alternately, this one is nice and sentimental with a nod to geekery.
Sweet card from the boy who screams at all bugs.
And because every man needs a break: The travel hammock.
Happy Father’s Day to the important father’s in your life. Whether it be your dad, your step dad, your brother, or a friend, remember to thank a dad for all that they do.
