hi there! i am julie. my life, in a nutshell, consists of being a wife & a mother… but i am also a person who craves to have a project going on at all times. whether it is painting a piece of furniture, making a frame, sewing baby things, making felt flowers {as i am here today to show you how to do} etc… i just like having something going on in my life that is my own.i started making baby things {headbands, burp cloths, bibs, wipes case, diaper pouches} when i had my daughter, sadie. i started to sell to some local boutiques in southern california & a bit on my blog {which is in major need of some work at the moment… please, don’t judge} my husband plays volleyball for the USA national team & also overseas professionally. therefore we travel… a lot. this makes it a bit difficult to stay busy with my normal work routine, as i am unable to bring all my fabric & sewing machine… darn it!

we have been in austria for a few months now & i decided to open up an etsy shop & sell some of the felt flowers that i make for my little one & her friends. i LOVE doing this! it has been so fulfilling for me to keep my little fingers busy while being away from home. i am so excited to share a, hopefully simple, tutorial with you today … how to make felt flower clips! sorry for the length… i am a pretty visual person so i wanted to include a lot of photos to make things clear. i chose this flower in the hopes that it would be one that most crafty hands would be able to make. here goes…

#1:
supplies…
. 2 colors of felt {flower & leaves}
. scissors
. needle/thread
. tiny snap clip
. button {or whatever you choose for the center}
. glue gun… not pictured since mine is so covered with glue.
#2:

. cut out 4 circles of 3 sizes { the sizes shown are: largest 4 1/2 cm, middle 4 cm, small & back 3 cm }

. i used pinking sheers on the small piece for the back…
you do not NEED to do this. i just think it’s a cute touch!
#3:
. cut into each circle to make the shape for petals. you may do however many you would like… did 5 on each flower.

#4:
. this is what you will have…
. cut out 2 small leaves.
#5:
. trim each petal to the desired shape…
#6:
. sew on the button {or whatever you choose for the center}

#7:
. use your glue gun to glue on the leaves.
your flower should now look something like this…

#8:
. cut a small slit into the back & place the clip through.

#9:
. use your glue gun to secure the clip to the back of your flower.
… AND YOU’RE DONE!
you should end up with a sweet little flower for you sweet little girl. These felt flower clips also make great gifts for little girls!
enjoy. xo

    As cute as can be-but Julie the clips you sell and come up with are more creative than I could hope to be! If you haven’t checked them out you should.
