God’s Power In Our Lives ~ August 3 Primary Talk

President Russell M. Nelson taught: “Every woman and every man who makes covenants with God and keeps those covenants, and who participates worthily in priesthood ordinances, has direct access to the power of God”

Would you like to have access to the power of God? God’s power helps us to return to live with Him someday. That is a pretty awesome gift.

We can make covenants that help us stay connected to our Heavenly Father. When we make and keep sacred covenants, we draw closer to God and we can feel his power in our lives.

Still Small Voice ~ August 10 Primary Talk

The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. That means he is partners with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They work together to lead us and guide us on our path back to them!

The Holy Ghost speaks to us in a still small voice. Sometimes the voice can sound like thoughts in our head telling us the answer to a question or guiding us to help someone in need.

The Holy Ghost can also speak to us through feelings. Sometimes people call them impressions. You may feel happy when you think about going to church. That means the Holy Ghost is helping you know that it is a good choice.

Listening to the Holy Ghost is important. He loves us and will do everything He can to help us return to live with God again.

Draw Near Unto Jesus ~ August 17 Primary Talk

Do you like hugs? Does it make you happy to have someone put their arms around you and squeeze you tight? Hugs make me feel safe and loved.

There is a scripture that says, “Draw near unto me, and I will draw near unto you.” In this verse, Jesus tells us that he will hold us close if we go to Him!

If you are ever feeling sad or alone, reach out to Jesus. He will bless you with his Spirit and fill you with his love. It is a promise He made!

Some ways to draw near unto Jesus are: sing primary songs, pray, think about Him during the sacrament, find things to be grateful for, and serve others.

When we do these things, we can feel close to Jesus.

My Body Is A Temple ~ August 24 Primary Talk

Have you ever been to the temple? The grass outside is always green. There are no weeds in the flowers. You will never see litter on the grounds. Everything is always clean and beautiful.

The temple is a holy place. We treat the temple with reverence and respect.

Did you know that your body is like a temple? Heavenly Father gave us bodies to house our spirits. We have been asked to take good care of our bodies.

The Lord gave us the Word of Wisdom. It is guidance on how to make our bodies holy. Some things He asks are that we eat fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, and meat and avoid caffeine, drugs, and alcohol.

When we treat our bodies like they are temples, we will be blessed to have strength and health.

Truths about Jesus ~ August 31 Primary Talk

We talk about our brother Jesus Christ a lot at Church! He has a very big role in our lives. What truths do you know about Jesus? Here are some things we know about our brother:

  • Jesus was with God in the beginning and He created the Earth.
  • Jesus was born to Earth and He lived and died for us.
  • Jesus is our brother and He loves us.
  • Jesus is our Savior.

There are so many things we can learn our Jesus as we study the scriptures and listen to our prophet. The more we learn about Jesus, the more we will grow to love and understand Him.

I have a testimony that Jesus is real and that He is always there to help us and guide us back to Heavenly Father.
