Hello, my name is Sonja and I am so excited to be guest posting on “Or So She Says…” I am one of those ladies that loves to dabble in everything so I’ve got a little something for everybody over at my blog Beautiful Life Photography | Blog. Lots of crafts, photography, adventures, family fun ideas, check it out!
Over the summer our family gave each week a theme. One of the weeks was “Good Deed Week” in which we did nice things for others, and for each other, during the entire week. It taught us how to be selfless, give to others without expecting anything in return, help those less fortunate or just put a smile on someone’s face with an unexpected gift. We have decided to continue spreading joy by leaving little packages on the doorsteps of our friends and family each month that we may not see as often as we like, and to let them know we are thinking of them. These gifts cost little or nothing, are small enough to ship if you need to, and are always fun! If possible we try to make the gift celebrate the season, but the kids will be excited about anything that left at their doorstep.
Last month we made Ice Cream Making Kits and they were a big hit…
All kids love to create and love to show off their creations so this months special gift is for the little artist. It includes an artist easel for each child in the family, a canvas and paintbrushes. If you want to add a little something extra you can also purchase some paint or good quality marking pens or a book by Ed Emberley. With just a few shapes you can make an entire world, very awesome.
Our kids proudly show off their artwork in our kitchen gallery. Follow this link for more ideas on displaying your childs artwork.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to give a special and meaningful gift that sparks their imagination.
Here is what you will need:
Small wooden easel- Ikea, $1.50
5×7 Canvas – Joann’s, 3-pack $2.50
or
5×7 Frames – Ikea, 2-pack $2
Sponge brushes-Michaels, 20 for $1
We added a tag on the outside with the quote:
“Anything you can imagine is real” – Picasso
Wrap it up in a bag and you are ready to go!
xoxo
