With nearly 300 5-star reviews, I had to stop and read all about Eddie Bauer’s Classic Fit Sherpa Fleece Lined Hoodie. And, basically a bunch of dudes are saying this is thee best jacket, for various reasons (colors, warmth, fit, etc.) It looks cozy to me! Darn, they are $70 bucks, regular price, and Cyber Monday was yesterday. They were 40% off (I tried to tell y’all on Facebook). But, I would imagine there will be some random Christmas sales coming up, so keep your eye out. I got Dan the brown one, and I found several other manly-man shirts from Eddie Bauer, like this one, and this one.
We have our Xbox and Wii downstairs in the family room…so, to stream Netflix, we have to haul our lazy butts down 13 steps. Torture, I know. But really, sometimes we would like to stream Netflix upstairs. It would come in handy for homeschool and family movies. But, I knew I didn’t want another gaming system, and we don’t have an Apple TV, so…what to do, what to do. Oh, that’s right, get the Roku 2 Streaming Player. That’s exactly what it’s for. And, sounds like it’s simple to set up (that really matters to me! :)) $89
For a few months, we were getting the channel AMC for free. That means nothing to me, but for my husband, it was just enough to get him hooked on Breaking Bad. He managed to get caught up on a couple seasons, but he missed the first season completely. He would love to see how it all began. So, the DVD set would be perfect for him. And, it’s an easy gift (and a cheap $14 bucks.) I quizzed y’all on Facebook and here are some of your ideas for DVD sets (that your husband’s love…): Dexter, Burn Notice, Modern Family, Gold Rush, American Choppers, American Pickers, Pawn Stars, The Walking Dead, and Supernatural. I’ve noticed that if you get the first season, for nearly all of these, they are all under $15. So, they could also be great stocking stuffers! Oh, I haven’t seen half of those show, they are just recommendations from readers. So, don’t hate me if they are too trashy for your taste (read the reviews, first.)
While at Thanksgiving dinner, I asked my brother to tell me some of his favorite things. He precedes to walk to the front door to grab his shoes. Apparently, he really digs brown, slip-on shoes. They can go from casual to dressy, and…you…don’t have to bend over to put them on?? Well, he likes them. And, I found these Rockport Thru The Week Slip Ons that I thought were pretty hot. A whopping $100 bucks, but really…every single shoe store has a variety of brown slip-on shoes. They can be found at all prices.
The 12 Lays of Christmas. Yep, you read that right…it says, “lays.” I HAD to check that out and it turns out to be the cutest idea. A perfect cheap gift that will surely make your man happy, no doubt. There are printables on the site and it is pretty self-explanatory in regards to any little things you need to buy, make, or do.
Every time we walk past adjustable dumbbells in the store, Dan stops. He picks them up, man-handles them, pumps some weight, and says how he thinks it would be nice to have some of those puppies. But, he says it would never be worth more than $200 bucks. I agree. I have looked and looked, and have yet to find a snazzy set that would meet his price limit. These things are expensive! But, I’ll keep my eyes out, and maybe some day. Some day.
A Universal Remote Control never occurred to me, until it was suggested on Facebook (thanks, Candace!) When you have a zillion remotes, the idea is to combine them down into one. The idea sounds fantastic, but what scares me off is the setup. But, alas…after reading reviews, both of the top picks get fantastic touts for being so easy to setup. I’m skeptical, but I’m sure its a task the hubs would take care of anyway. He would probably enjoy every minute of it.
The two top picks:
This Universal Remote is a great deal, only $18 bucks, and has over 200 5 star reviews.
If you want a BIG step up, the Logitech Touch Screen Remote gets almost 2,000 favorable reviews! Holy. Check out the fancy touch screen…
Dan loves listening to audio books while he travels to and from his jobs. I asked him about his favorite book, as of lately, and here it is…Stonehenge by Bernard Cornwell. You’ll have to read about it on Amazon. But, it sounds like a total man-book.
Oh, so while I was on Amazon…you know how great reviews stop me in my tracks, right? Well, I noticed this book that had over 1800 5 star reviews. That doesn’t happen often. I looked into it and it sounds exactly like something Dan would like. So, maybe the man in your life will too! It’s an inspiring true story of a man who survived utter @#!*% during WWII. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
Dan loves his truck. LOVES. If it looks anything less than spotless, it really weighs on his conscience. It kinda drives me nuts, to be honest. But, I love him, so I’ll just go with it. He’s been dreaming about getting custom floor mats, Weather Tech Floor Mats, to protect his baby. They cover every speck of the floor. You just pick the make and model of the vehicle and the site will find your size. Prizes vary, depending on your car.
And, that’s a wrap! Feel free to share any great gift ideas that you have for the men in your life.
