My husband and I try really hard to regularly spend one-on-one time with each of our four children. However, life gets crazy busy sometimes, so we’ve found it’s important to schedule monthly date nights with our kids. With the upcoming release of the new Star Wars movie, this month’s date night is a no-brainer!
I like Star Wars, but my husband REALLY likes Star Wars! He can’t bear the thought of his oldest son not being an avid Star Wars fan too. The signs are good that he’s on the right path since our little guy practically sleeps in his new Star Wars tie he received from Cufflinks.com. It’s usually a struggle to get this four-year-old to wear any kind of neck wear, but not anymore! He goes around showing everyone the little Darth Vaders all over his tie. It’s pretty adorable.
I thought it would be cute to incorporate his new obsession into his upcoming father-son date. My husband is being a good sport and is dressing up to take him to the movie.
But prior to that, we’re going to surprise him with this adorable printable invitation. He’s all about checking the “yes” and “no” boxes on the notes his older sisters are always giving him. So I thought he’d love getting to respond to dad’s request to go on a date.
My husband is determined to make this a date night our Star Wars fan-in-training won’t forget, so I agreed to come up with some yummy treats they could smuggle into the theater to enjoy along with their obligatory popcorn. I’m pretty sure this isn’t exactly what my husband had in mind, but I couldn’t help myself – some of their favorite treats packaged to go along with the Star Wars theme!
If the men in your life aren’t Star Wars fans, then you could replicate a similar date idea but with a different theme. Cufflinks.com has so many fun ties, bow ties and of course, cufflinks! They’ve got tons of great DC Comics and Disney neckwear. In fact I can almost guarantee that you’ll find at least one of your guy’s favorite characters displayed tastefully on a tie!
I love that the themed neckwear is somewhat subtle. My husband is not the type to wear loud patterns or obvious characters on his ties, but I can totally see him wearing this Batman tie:
I may even stuff his stocking with a Darth Vader tie to match our son’s, along with these super cool Death Star cufflinks:
I have a hard time finding really good gifts for the men in my life, so I’m thrilled to have discovered Cufflinks.com. The variety and quality of their endless products will make the next few Christmases and birthdays much easier on me!
