Happy September, everyone!! I’m pretty excited about these favorites of mine, this month. There are always some things that stick out to me as just being super awesome, as I go about my days, and these things are super awesome. I hope you love them! You can also find the links to the previous picks at the bottom of this post.
Pick #1
A couple weeks ago, my toddler dropped my Mac laptop and shattered the screen… I was so sad!! Anyway, all is well now, but I decided I wanted a case on my fixed laptop. I’m not totally convinced that it will prevent dropping damage, but if there’s a chance it will help, I’ll take it. Having my laptop out of commission is pretty rough for me. 🙂 I looked far and wide for a laptop case that I loved. It was a harder task than I expected. But, I finally found one and I’m pretty smitten with it… KUZY. I love the faux leather look, the way it fits, the grip it offers, and all the colors available. This is the one I got, below. Now, mine is a 13″ Macbook Pro with Retina Display, so I’m not sure if they have the exact same model for all Macs, but they do have several other styles to choose from.Pick #2
So, I homeschool the kiddos and for the first part of our day we always spend some time doing scripture study. I’m always looking for ways to keep the kids engaged and help them develop a passion for the scriptures. I was so pumped to find the scripture story felt sets from Felt Ark! Actually, they have tons of sets that aren’t scriptures, but these ones were perfect for what I was looking for. They have a set for both the Bible and The Book of Mormon. To help the stories really sink in, I’m going to have the kids tell ME and their siblings the stories, using the felt pieces. Oh, and there is also an option to buy the sets pre-cut, for a little more money… yay. (Sorry about the blurry picture, this is what they had on their site.)
Pick #3
It looks like these are clearing out, as they’re only $9.99 right now (so if you want one, jump on it!) But, I love these side-tie t-shirts from Life is Good. I actually don’t love the fit/feel of some of their other styles, but I have one of each of the side-tie shirts because they fit so good and are super cute with… get this, yoga pants. OR, a fitted jersey skirt. Both of which I proudly live in. I hope they continue making these!
Pick #4
I was really needing some new music, with all this computer work I’ve been having to do. It’s nice to have something to listen to! Anyway, I love Rosie Thomas and wanted another singer that might be along the same lines as her… luckily I was led to Jack Savoretti. He has been singing to me all day, every day, for the past couple weeks. I bought both Harder Than Easy and Between the Minds, and I imagine I’ll be getting his other stuff soon!
Pick #5
This documentary, On the Way to School, was actually just recommended by a contributor in a blog post right here on ‘Or so she says…’. I took her advice and watched it with the kids this morning during homeschool. Holy cow, it was so touching and made me feel so blessed to have the education I have and to live in our country, where an education is so readily available. My kids kept looking over at me to see if I was crying, and I totally was. I especially loved that every one of my kids was totally into it. Normally, they’re asking ‘how much longer is this?’ But, they were hooked. You have to see this! It’s perfect for a Family Night. It looks like the only copies on Amazon are for a different region, but if you have Netflix, it’s on there!!
Leave a comment and tell me some of your favorite things that you think I should check out. I’m always looking for new favorites!
