This craft is easy and will keep your little ones occupied for at least an hour. You can make it into a pin and show your patriotism on the Fourth of July or make it into a magnet.
.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
Acrylic, red, white and blue paint
pin backs or magnet strips with sticky on the back
white craft glue
small cookie cutters: heart, star, number 4
Acrylic sealer spray
Mix together the salt, flour, and water. If the dough is too sticky, keep adding tablespoons of flour one at a time until the mixture is smooth and pliable. Be careful not to add to much or they will crack.
Roll out dough, and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
Place shapes on cookie sheet and heat oven to 250 degrees. Put the cookie sheet in oven and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until they are dry. Remove from oven and let them cool.
Get the paints and let their little creative minds go for it!
Let them all dry and spray them with an acrylic sealer. Glue on pinbacks or magnet strips on the back.
Happy Independence Day!

Cool! You could also cut out a square in the center and turn it into a frame…poke a hole in the top and make it an ornament. You could make really small stars and glue in them in a row on a barrett for hair. You could stick a skewer in the end and stick them in a vase with some patriotic colored flowers. You could make holes in the sides all the way through to the other side so that you can string them on a garland wtih some cute twine, flannel, and wood beads….etc., etc., etc.

    Great idea!

This is just the coolest craft ever! You could use it to make hearts or stars for a chrismas tree or gift the ornaments, gift tags, etc…thanks for the tip!
