Hey peach lovers!:) It’s Jana from Double the Deliciousness. So happy I get to share this delicious, fresh peach homemade ice cream recipe with you today!
I LOVE living in Colorado!! Especially during harvest seasons. We have famous Olathe sweet corn, Rocky Ford Canteloupe, and my favorite….Palisade peaches! And it’s peach season right now in Colorado. I love a nice, big, juicy fresh peach better than just about anything.
Growing up when my parents would buy boxes of peaches to can, we would live on peaches and cream for breakfast until the peaches were all gone & canned. We’d cut up some peaches, pour a little milk or cream on top and sprinkle a little sugar. So divine! I always wished the peaches lasted longer!
If you’ve ever had peaches and cream for breakfast and loved it as much as I did, you’ll fall in love with this ice cream. It is “wish I had 5 gallons of it” good! And so easy…and a perfect summer time treat for the kids…and adults too…and did I mention delicious?
Fresh Peach Homemade Ice Cream
3 large ripe peaches
1 cup whole milk
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
Cut peaches in half and remove the peeling. Place in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into medium sized mixing bowl and add milk, whipping cream, sugar and vanilla. Stir until sugar is dissolved, about 3-5 minutes. Freeze in ice cream maker following manufactures directions. Mine took about 30 minutes.
After it’s done it’s like soft serve ice cream…which is the way I like it, and the way the kids like it. Cut up some fresh peaches into chunks and either stir into ice cream or sprinkle on top and serve your kids (or whoever). If you like it harder like store bought ice cream, place in a air tight container and place in freezer for 4-6 hours.
