Today I am looking at Mariel’s blog and seeing almost 7,500 beautiful, talented, accomplished women from all over the world who frequent this site (from Facebook) as we come together in our womanhood to share, explore and grow together. Probably many more of you are reading and haven’t clicked the Facebook follow button. Either way, today I want to talk about YOU.
Sometimes it makes me more discouraged, thinking it’s just one more thing I have to try to do so that others will accept me. It’s a silly thought but I know that I’m not alone in it so I’m putting it out there. Over the last few years however, I have learned just exactly what this means and how to accomplish such a seemingly daunting task at times.
I am going to share a few of my rules for loving yourself and hope that they help you to see exactly who you are and why that is such a great thing!
“When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me
Every freckle on my face is where it’s suppose to be
And I know my creator didn’t make no mistakes on me
My feet, my thighs, my Lips, my eyes, I’m loving what I see
And I ain’t built like a supermodel
But I learned to love myself unconditionally,
Because I am a queen
I not the average girl from your video
My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes
No matter what I’m wearing I will always be
India.Arie” (Insert your own name)
Bad things happen it’s true, but do your best to look on the bright side and find the good in you and the world around you! You are beautiful. You are unique which makes a perfect contribution to the world. You are smart, talented, and exactly who you should be, so go on and love yourself!

Oh my goodness Teresa! This was for me! Kiddo woke up before the sun so now I’m up too! :0) I love the one about doing something nice for yourself once a week! I’m going clothes shopping today to really spend my birthday money how I want! And maybe just maybe I will go run a 3K in my near future since I too never really saw myself as a runner!
Oh good Amanda! I’m glad you liked it. 🙂 Yes, do the run! You will feel like a champion afterward! I seriously struggled to run a mile the beginning of last year so it can be done!
You always have great insight, Teresa! I love this post, and I think you’re right…we all get caught in those ‘poor-me’ moments and it’s so important to remember how we each have something that only we can offer the world. Thanks for another great post!
Thanks Mariel! 🙂
