We recently welcomed baby #4 into our family, and what a different experience it has been from when we brought our first baby home! I think all moms should have at least three kids because by then you know what you’re doing and can just relax and enjoy your new little person. And watching my other children interact with their new baby brother just melts my heart and gives me a feeling of joy that is beyond compare!
I have a few friends who are getting ready to have their first baby. And while I can’t help them prepare for every possible challenge that comes with having a baby, I can pass on a few of the items and products that have helped us along our parenthood journey.
I like to put together a care package for new moms full of my “must have” baby supplies. A good friend did this for me when I was a new mom, and many of the products she included in my gift are still on my go-to list. Favorite diapers, wipes, blankets, pacifiers, diaper cream, bottles and lotions are always included. And now I have a new product that I plan to add to all my new mom care packages – Colief Infant Digestive Aid.
Colief is added to baby’s usual milk (breast or formula) before each feeding to help break down most of the lactose. Adding Colief before each feeding may help compensate for possible temporary lactose intolerance in the baby’s digestive system. Since you never know if your new baby will be one of the approximately one million babies born annually in United States who are affected by colic, it’s a good idea to have Colief on hand before the possible tummy problems start. There’s nothing worse than watching a tiny baby writhe in pain from bloating and gas. I know I’ve been willing to do anything, from walking laps in my living room to limiting my diet, in order to try and prevent and/or treat my baby’s tummy pain. By including Colief in my new mom gifts, hopefully I’ll be able to save them, and their babies, from the worry and sleepless nights that come with colic.
As I’ve mentioned, I love hearing “war stories” from other moms. I found this testimonial from new mom, Amy Deel, particularly touching. While my experience was never as intense as hers, there were still elements of her story that I related to. I think you’ll find her story powerful as well!
Colief is easy to find at Walgreens, and it can also be purchased online. Colief’s got a great Facebook community as well with lots of tips and support for new parents. And be sure to check out the Colief web site for more information on colic-associated crying and how Colief may be able to help give your infant, and you, some relief.
Colief also has a fun giveaway going on right now!
You can enter the Share Your #ColiefMOMent Giveaway here. Along with packages of Colief Infant Digestive Aid, they’re also giving away a $500 Walgreens gift card and a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag of your choice!
Being a mom is tough at times, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. The difficult moments and memories are eventually replaced by all the joy and fulfillment that comes from having children. I can’t imagine life without my four little ones!
