It seems that every woman has something that tugs on their heart strings, and can instantly bring them to tears. For me, it’s sad children. I just want to hug and love them all! I can’t stand knowing that there are many, many children who go through their life being treated so unkindly, whether at […]
Let’s get right to it. Yes, I will totally send you a free Book of Mormon without missionaries and this offer NEVER EXPIRES. There’s absolutely no strings attached. Nobody is going to come knocking at your door. You will not be on the ‘Mormon’ radar. You’re totally safe, my friend. I have sent out over […]
I thought a fun summer activity would be to make some pioneer candy recipes – and it was! My kids and I made “pioneer taffy” and old fashioned rock candy. They took a little while to cook, but in the end it was worth it. These pioneer treats would be great to have for a […]
I was recently searching for “recipes that kids love,” and was so disappointed in the results. Hot Dog Sliders with Mango Salsa?? Peanut Butter, Jelly & Pork Sandwiches?? Who are the children that eat such things? I’m so confused. As a mother of 7 children, ranging from 4 to 19 years old, I figured I […]

Sometimes General Conference sneaks right up on me. But other times, it can’t come soon enough, and I’m counting down the days. I especially feel that way this year. Can we just have Conference every month?? Not only do I love the peace & direction filled messages from a prophet of God and His apostles, […]
I’m sure you can relate to the experience of falling head-over-heels for a certain menu item at a restaurant and WISHING you had the recipe. That’s exactly what happened to me. The minute I tried this hot spinach artichoke dip with pepper jack cheese at a local restaurant, I knew I needed it as a […]
So, I’ve shared our little Valentine’s tradition with you a while back, here on OSSS and also on Make and Takes. It’s just something simple that I came up with because I was still pooped from Christmas and didn’t feel like the kids needed any more toys. I decided that every Valentine’s Day we would do BOOKS. Yay, for books! But, not just books… a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt! Even though I told you about it before, I decided it’s okay to bring it up again because THIS TIME I have printable for you… cause guess what?? I just figured out how to make them the other day. Now there’s no stopping me.
So, here’s a little story. I have this sugar cookie recipe that I really love… they’re soft, chewy, and super addicting. I had a sweet reader try them, liked them, then mentioned that if I love those, I will surely love her Gingersnap Cookie recipe. Just like the sugar cookies, these Gingersnap Cookies are soft, chewy, and so amazing. I’m soooo glad she sent me this recipe! They’re definitely a new go-to.
I had a special request for this post, Indoor Activities for Older Girls, and I loved the idea! It’s so true that a lot of what is found on blogs these days are for younger kids… AND, I just happen to be the mom of 2 girls that would love some ‘older’ activities. Any of these activity ideas would be great for them to do alone, with the help of their mom, grandma, or to do with friends.
The other night, I probably spent a couple hours pinning ideas for involving my kids in General Conference to a designated General Conference Pinterest board. While pinning away, it occurred to me that a big portion of my Pinterest followers probably don’t know what the heck General Conference is, and here their pin stream is being flooded with the ideas I’m saving.
So, what is General Conference? So, let me tell you… in case you’re wondering, in case you’re interested, or in case you’re bored and need something to read…
As a mother of a toddler, it’s not a rare occurrence to hear a request for a real horse or pony. It’s not just a cliche situation, it really happens! A live, large animal will not work for us, for a couple reasons. One, we don’t have the property to raise a horse. Two, it […]
