Recipes That Kids Love (From a Mother of 7!)
I was recently searching for “recipes that kids love,” and was so disappointed in the results. Hot Dog Sliders with Mango Salsa?? Peanut Butter, Jelly & Pork Sandwiches?? Who are the children that eat such things? I’m so confused. As a mother of 7 children, ranging from 4 to 19 years old, I figured I […]

Sometimes General Conference sneaks right up on me. But other times, it can’t come soon enough, and I’m counting down the days. I especially feel that way this year. I’m sure you can relate to the experience of falling head-over-heels for a certain menu item at a restaurant and WISHING you had the recipe. That’s exactly what happened to me. Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt at Home (Kids LOVE This!!)
So, I’ve shared our little Valentine’s tradition with you a while back, here on OSSS and also on Make and Takes. It’s just something simple that I came up with because I was still pooped from Christmas and didn’t feel like the kids needed any more toys. I decided that every Valentine’s Day we would do BOOKS. Yay, for books! But, not just books… a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt! Even though I told you about it before, I decided it’s okay to bring it up again because THIS TIME I have printable for you… cause guess what?? I just figured out how to make them the other day. Now there’s no stopping me.
Ginger Cookies with White Icing (Buttercream!!)

I had a sweet reader try them, liked them, then mentioned that if I love those, I will surely love her Gingersnap Cookie recipe. Just like the sugar cookies, these Gingersnap Cookies are soft, chewy, and so amazing. I’m soooo glad she sent me this recipe! They’re definitely a new go-to.

Any of these activity ideas would be great for them to do alone, with the help of their mom, grandma, or to do with friends.
What Is a Mormon General Conference??
The other night, I probably spent a couple hours pinning ideas for involving my kids in General Conference to a designated General Conference Pinterest board. While pinning away, it occurred to me that a big portion of my Pinterest followers probably don’t know what the heck General Conference is, and here their pin stream is being flooded with the ideas I’m saving.
So, what is General Conference? So, let me tell you… in case you’re wondering, in case you’re interested, or in case you’re bored and need something to read…

As a mother of a toddler, it’s not a rare occurrence to hear a request for a real horse or pony. It’s not just a cliche situation, it really happens! A live, large animal will not work for us, for a couple reasons. One, we don’t have the property to raise a horse. Two, it […]
Stuffed Mushrooms ~ Made With Jimmy Dean Sausage
Let me get right to the point… you want these. I want these. We ALL want stuffed mushrooms made with Jimmy Dean sausage. But typically, when I make them, I tell nobody. I devour them all, privately, and enjoy every minute of it! Okay, I lied… I do share, but I regret it, every time. […]
