One of my favorite parts of Christmas is shopping for stocking stuffers. Is that weird? Maybe it’s the challenge of it…finding something small AND cool? It definitely narrows down the options. But, I love a good challenge, so with that, may I introduce you to ‘Mariel’s Picks 2012 ~ Stocking Stuffers for the Whole Family‘!
Stocking Stuffers for the Whole Family:
How cute are these Owl Eye Contact Cases?? Makes poking your finger in your eye all the more pleasurable. Just $4.00 per case, and you’ll be sent a random color.
If you have a Star Trek fan in your home, or EVEN if you don’t…this Electronic Door Chime (modeled after the communicator panel on the original series) is seriously awesome. Mount it on either side of the door, choose the alarm sound, and whenever someone passes through the doorway (your threshold), it will alert you. For just $27 bucks, I was surprised at the great reviews! Star Trek junkies love the familiar alarm sounds from the show, and everyone loves that it actually works! Some reviewers claim to use it for safety reasons, as a real alarm system. My boys would get a kick out of this…warning them of their sisters touching ‘their stuff.’
I’ve heard great things about the Scentsy Layers products, and I’ve been anxious to try them. Plus, they’re a perfect price for stocking stuffers. There’s lotions, body sprays, solid perfumes, soaps, bath tablets. And, maybe it’s lame to give for a gift…but, people rave about the washer whiffs and dryers disks, saying they never wash clothes without them anymore. Hmmmm…I’ll have to try that. Anyway, I always love their stuff…smells SO good!!
I recently did a post sharing with you how we put together our 72 hour emergency kits. In the kit, I included one of these mini flashlights for everyone. And, when I say mini…they are MINI…like, maybe a couple inches long. But, they are soooo awesome and get spectacular reviews. I hooked one onto the zipper of each backpack. But, once my husband and I realized how powerful they are, we both wanted one on our key chains. They take up so little space amongst our keys and are great to have on hand for those dark moments. There are a few different colors to choose from, including pink! (They would also be great to hook on sleeping bag zippers…for sleepovers and camping.)
My kids love getting messy and they love making art to cover the fridge. My fridge is so covered in their pictures, that every time I open the door, ten fall to the floor, along with the magnets. Then the puppy runs over, grabs a magnet and dodges my attempts to catch her on all sides of the coffee table, while I try to sound authoritative..’Aspen, drop it. Aspen, drop it.’ Eventually, I tackle her, pry it out of her mouth, wash my hands, and we’re back to business as usual…until someone opens the fridge. Great fun, let me tell you. So, in an effort to keep up this madness and my fridge decorated, I’m thinking my kids would totally get a kick out of these Crayola Washable Finger Paints. Reviewers love them because they’re a great consistency and truly washable. Yay.
One of my favorite things is my Nalgene Water Bottles. I’ve mentioned my weird shopping addiction to water bottles and mugs, so excuse my arrogance as I claim to be an expert. I love Nalgene bottles because they’re sturdy, they have a wide mouth (easy to put ice in and clean), they come in big 32 oz. sizes, AND the lid is attached (hallelujah!!) The 16 oz. is great for throwing in your purse, the 32 oz. is perfect for those serious work-outs. Lots of colors to choose from!
Back to art projects, remember color by number?? So fun, right? Well, these Color Counts books are like color by numbers on steroids. Reviewers say they love doing them, as adults, and then others say that it keeps their 5 year olds busy for hours. There are several different book themes to choose from.
Okay, don’t laugh. This album cover is a little…um, froo-froo…but, I love this Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner for babies. His voice is so soothing and the songs make me (and babe) totally sleepy…in a good way. I love letting my little ones listen to music while falling asleep, and this album is perfect for that!
Remember these Glow in the Dark Ceiling Stars?? I LOVED them when I was little and I’ll bet anything that my kids would love them too. And, it just so happens that this particular brand gets the best ratings, comes with 150 stars, and is only eight bucks. It would be fun to get the Glow-in-the-Dark Constellations book, to help them place the stars in correct formations and read about the different constellations.
Sometimes its cold and you want to use your iPhone without having to take your gloves off…it’s a real dilemma, my friends. That’s why you need SwypeGloves. Made with conductive fibers, allowing you to navigate your device with precision. Nice.
