I love fall…it might just be my favorite. It’s so nice after such a busy summer to have everything SLOW down. It’s beautiful outside…you should see the mountains in Utah right now! And, yummy recipes start popping up all over the internet: pumpkin, apple, caramel, soups, bread, cinnamon…I love it all.
Anyway, this punch is an easy variation of the traditional fall drink, apple cider. It can be served warm or cold, but I actually prefer it cold.
Ingredients: water, sugar, nutmeg, grape juice, apple cider, ginger ale, and lemons.
In a large pot, boil 6 cups water with 2 cups sugar and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. Stir randomly while boiling, about 5 minutes.
Slice up about 4 lemons.
To the pot of water, add 4 cups grape juice, 6 cups apple cider, and lemons. Let cool and refrigerate until cold. Before serving, add 8 cups of ginger ale.
This recipe makes a little over a gallon.
