White Chicken Chili

I am a soup girl. Chili is good too. White chicken chili is even better. I found this recipe and had everything on hand so I made it and froze it for meals next week, since my hubby is out of town. I love being prepared. Here are the ingredients: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, onion
garlic powder, oil, Great Northern Beans, chicken broth, green chilies, salt, cumin, oregano, peppr, cayenne pepper, sour cream, whipping cream.

Cut up your chicken and onions.

In a large saucepan, saute chicken, onion and garlic powder in oil until chicken is no longer pink.

Add beans, broth chilies and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Remove from the heat; stir in sour cream and cream. Garnish with fresh cilantro, if desired. Serve immediately. This is especially good served with tortilla chips. Makes about 6 servings.

Enjoy!

  1. Is this from that blog site I gave you?? It sounds way good!

Don’t make the King Arthur’s pancakes…made them this morning. Blah.

  2. I love this soup! I make it all the time in the winter and my 10 year old loves it. To make it a little less fattening, instead of the sour cream and whipping cream I use 2 cups of Fat Free Half and Half. I also make a white sauce first out of 1/2 stick of butter, melt it and whisk in 1/4 cup flour until it thickens and then I add my chicken broth and half & half. Those are the only changes in my recipe.

  3. Holy cow gene this soup looks so good. I can’t wait to try it once I am off this diet:)

  4. Oh I have to try this! I have a freind that loves this, but I lost her recipe and didn’t dare tell her….*sad* I didn’t want to offend her that I never made it.

    Thanks for posting it!

  5. Thank you so much for sharing this! I’ve made chicken chili before, but it’s in a package and it’s made by McCormick, all i did was add the chicken! I bet this one is MUCH MUCH better!!!
