Butterfly Finger Puppet ~ Adorable Nature Project!

Hi there! It’s Amy from While Wearing Heels and I’m back to share another fun DIY project….for the kids!

To make your own butterfly finger puppets gather the following supplies: cardstock, pencil, twigs, flower petals, leaves, glue stick and scissors. Begin by arranging your leaves onto the cardstock to resemble a butterfly shape. Trace around your leaves and cut your butterfly shape out of the cardstock. Fold the butterfly in half. Cut 2 lines into the center, over the fold, creating a loop to place your finger inside. Using your glue stick, glue the leaves down onto the butterfly shape cutout.

Camping with Kids ~ My BEST Tips Revealed!

Hey all! It’s Lindsay from Lindsay Ross Blog. Now that it’s warming up in Utah (well, winter never really happened here this year but don’t get me started on that disappointment) I’m starting to think about our adventures for the summer and warmer weather.

When I talk about camping for us, I’m talking in a tent, no running water, no toilets, out in the wilderness kind of camping. I’m not a big fan of campgrounds. People are too close. It’s too loud. People are too close. You know. We like our space when camping. And peace. And generally we don’t get cell service up there so we don’t get distracted by real life (always a plus in my book). So we make an effort to do full-on camping. Takes quite a bit more prep work, but we think it’s worth it for the experience.

Houseplant Care – And a Giveaway! (she: Becky)

Hi Or So She Says readers! I’m Becky from Bite of Delight, and I’m so thrilled to be a new contributor here! I’m a Utah girl married to my best friend, and together we have four little buddies. I love to cook and I spend most of my time in the kitchen. We don’t eat elaborate meals every night, but we do eat together as a family every night. I love reading and Sunday afternoon naps and a clean house. Things that I miss since having 4 kids, but they’re all slowly coming back into my life!
Normally you’ll find me in my kitchen elbow-deep in bread dough or chocolate, but for my first post here, I want to talk to you about houseplant care because…it’s Houseplant Appreciation Day! When I found out about this fun day, I talked to the nice folks at Western Gardens and they agreed to help me out with a giveaway just for you! (Keep reading for details!)

Our Beautiful Earth

Our Beautiful Earth

One of my favorite things about Utah is being able to experience all four seasons. Every August, I’m completely burned out on summer craziness and just want to chill. Welcome, Fall. It makes me want to stay home, cook yummy food, and just relax. Then I start getting a little overly anxious for Christmas and using the fireplace. Utah is usually pretty happy to dump a pile of beautiful fluffy snow on the ground. For me, Christmas needs snow. But soon enough, the snow starts to turn to slush and everything looks dead, dirty, and depressing… UNTIL the leaves start popping up on the trees, our creek runs higher with the snow run-off, and the birds return to build their nests. I love it! Everything feels fresh and happy in the spring. With the new life all around us, the kids and I start itching to wrap up the school year and play, play, play! And, we do. All. Summer. Long. …and, then I’m tired, longing for structure, and some cooler weather. Repeat, every year. It’s fun. Every season excites me.

DIY Bug Jar Caddy ~ Fun Summer Craft! (she: Brooke)

We’re back with our talented group of 10 blogger besties to share June’s themed hop. Head on over to their blogs to see and save their projects after viewing ours. June’s theme is MASON JARS for this beautiful summer weather! Today we’re talking bugs. I have three boys under the age of six, and when summertime hits, they’re all about bugs. Rarely a day goes by in the summertime when I don’t hear, “MOM! GET A JAR QUICK!” (sound familiar?). At the end of last summer I decided I needed a place for just bug jars. I was dishing out all my good jars for bug houses. So, when Mariel told me the theme for June’s blog hop was Mason jars, I knew exactly what I wanted to do- finally make my bug jar caddy.

Fun Ways To Teach You AND Your Kids About The Wonders Of Wildlife!

Although I’m not big on having any pets in my home…it doesn’t mean that I’m not ultra-fascinated by wildlife! Maybe this is super nerdy, but the beard man and I love to curl up and watch a sweet wildlife documentary. It’s so amazing how much more depth there is to these creatures and how we…
