Alright, last day of sharing my California family vacation with you. If you’re ever thinking of doing a similar vacation with your family, I hope this has given you some ideas! Forgive some of the grainy pics. I opted to just stick with my phone camera this vacation, rather than lugging around my nice one.
So, after hitting up the two parks, we thought it would be a nice break to do something a little more laid back and educational. The tour of the USS Iowa perfectly fit the bill! We learned so much and it was something easy that the whole family could do… well, all except baby Grace. We had to take turns in the waiting area with her.
Checking out Franklin D. Roosevelt’s room…
On our way home, there was a lovely sunset that we pulled over to watch. Okay, let’s talk about my son and the WEIRD face he makes in every picture. I keep telling him everyone is going to think he really looks like that, because he does it in literally every picture, trying to be funny. Kids.
We couldn’t let our vacation end without hitting the beach one more time. My kids are about half and half… half of them LOVE the beach and the ocean…
Another beach lover…
And, the other half likes to sit there and complain about the sand on their feet and the sharks in the water. Ah, but such is life.
Grace and I totally enjoyed ourselves.
All in all, it was a super memorable and fun-filled vacation. My kids have been asking to go back already! They still talk about the hotel pools, the restaurants we went to, and the rides they went on. It was a perfect vacation for a big family, like mine, especially with a new little baby. We were definitely pooped by the time it was over!
