My name is Brittany. I am a 27-year-old wife and mom of two little girls (ages 2 & 3 mos.). I absolutely love being a stay-at-home mom; Taking care of my girls, cleaning house, decorating and cooking are just a few of my favorite things! I love to be organized so I am always looking for better ways to pretty-up my house in a cheap sort of way! I have been married to my husband, Josh, for 3 years now. He. Is. Amazing. We initially met online. (Don’t laugh, ok laugh, because we joke about it all the time!) After seven weeks and hours of phone conversations, we met in person! I don’t know how to describe how perfect he is for me, I knew after just three weeks of dating (in person, that is) that he was the one! We are still just as in love three years later. I have to give him most of the credit for keeping our love alive. He is so romantic, patient, selfless, and motivated. I have gained many of these qualities because of him! I think it’s important to be the kind of person you want your spouse to be.
What did you do on your first date?
I traveled 4 hours to meet him in person for the first time. It was kind of spontaneous, (not to mention crazy!) but I so badly wanted to meet this guy I was falling in love with over the phone! When I got there, it was kind of awkward, he took me inside to meet a bunch of his friends and then we went on a scenic drive. When we got back, we cuddled on the couch and watched a Disney movie and he softly kissed my ear.
What’s the best romantic getaway you’ve been on?
Our honeymoon would have to be the closest things to a “romantic getaway”. We reserved a hotel suite in Denver, CO and planned to go sight seeing and maybe go to a dinner theatre. However, none of that happened because he had to rush me to the ER the next morning! (a whole other story!) We ended up going back to my parents’ house for the rest of the honeymoon, bahaha, really romantic huh? However, we were happy because we were together and that’s all that really mattered to us.
What would the ultimate romantic getaway be??
He likes to tease me by telling others that he saved my life the day after we got married (ok, which he did) so anything would be better than a trip to the ER. But someday we would LOVE to go on a cruise!
What are your songs?
haha. We don’t really have a “song”, but we do have a movie! We would joke about our “online meeting” being like the movie “Bringing Down the House” with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah. If you haven’t seen it. I totally recommend it for your laughing and viewing pleasure!! He would always quote from the movie: “You got me straight trippin’ boo!”
If you were to make a special dinner for him, what would you make?
He would probably tell me to make whatever I want as long I make “Hawaiian Wedding Cake” for dessert.
Hawaiian Wedding Cake
1 box White cake mix
2 pkgs Instant Coconut pudding
1 container Cool Whip
1 Pkg fresh Strawberries
1 Banana
½ pkg Coconut
Prepare pudding as directed on pkg, set in fridge. Bake the cake according to pkg directions in an 8×13 pan. Leave in pan; Cool completely.
Assembly: Spread all of the pudding over the cake, then, spread the cool whip over that. Cut up the strawberries and bananas and scatter over cool whip. Lastly, sprinkle coconut over the cake. Serve or refrigerate immediately.
What was the coolest gift you ever bought him?
That would definitely have to be a digital picture frame! We have it hanging in our kitchen (our favorite place to be) so we can always remember all the good memories we have had together.
What is your favorite gift that he bought for you?
I really can’t think of anything “material”. My most favorite thing he ever did for me was for Valentines Day last year. Before leaving for work, he placed all of our daughters’ toys on the living room floor in the shape of a heart with a sweet little “love note” in the middle. When I came downstairs that morning, I was completely in love all over again. I will never forget that!

What are some every day ways that you show love for each other?
He always makes sure to give me a kiss and a little back massage before he heads off to work. Because he knows I love it. I make sure to do the dishes every night because I know he hates doing dishes.
What are some things you like to do together?
We like to talk, sometimes we will stay up late on the weekends and just talk, about everything, because we can.
If you could give your husband anything, what would it be?
I wish I could give him something as equal to what he has given me: Confidence in myself, more patience, and a selfless attitude. He has been an amazing example to me.

Acqua Di Gio, by Giorgio Armani…aaahh love it.

I love my marriage because…
I love my marriage because we are in it together. When we got married, someone gave us some advice that we have never forgotten. He told us to never use the word “divorce” and never make it an option. It’s so important to be consistent with all those “little” acts of love!
