Today’s picks: Gifts for Women
I recently asked you gals what you wanted for Christmas. I got SO many great responses! One of the answers really caught my eye/stomach… a doughnut pan! I was like, DUDE! I think I want that too. Or, do I? It can be dangerous to know how to make my own doughnuts! But nevertheless, I added it to my wishlist. I like doughnuts.
Okay, so at first I wrote ‘donuts,’ then I saw this book cover and felt the need to change all my words to ‘doughnuts.’ And, then I googled it and it said both are okay. So, I don’t want to hear it. I’ll use both.
Back to business… I read lots and lots of reviews, and here’s the winners. For a donut pan, you want the Wilton Non-Stick Donut Pan. For a doughnut cutter (which a lot of people prefer, and it’s cheaper!) you’ll want the Ateco 3 1/2″ Cutter. Finally, if you need a little guidance in the doughnut-making art, you should probably check out the book Doughnuts. It gets fantastic reviews! AND, would be perfect bundled with either the cutter or pan.
Okay, let’s bank on the fact that we don’t REALLY have time to make doughnuts on a regular basis. Just for special occasions, of course. Because THESE Zella ‘Live In’ Leggings are at the TOP of my wishlist. Among a handful of other amazing things from Nordstroms… oh, that store, as dangerous as donuts. I’m a recent leggings convert. They’re so comfortable and can be worn to work-out in, around the house, or throw on a pair of boots and slouchy shirt, and you’re ready to go out. So, get this… these leggings that come in lots of colors… have over 2,000 five star reviews. Ladies go nuts over them, saying they’re the most comfortable and best leggings they’ve ever had. I’ve got to try them. Oh, and bonus, they’re reversible. They’re not as cheap as leggings you would find at say, Target. BUT, they’re about 50% cheaper than Lululemon, a super-favorite but way-way-overpriced brand.
Another highly suggested item, by several women, is the Cutco Cheese Knife. It sounds like a kitchen rock-star (easily slices through the cheese with no sticking) and the price is AMAZING (12 bucks!!)
Bundle this gift with: an Epicurean Non-Slip Cutting Board (great reviews!), a Victorio Apple Peeler Corer Slicer (because cheese, apples, and cashews are my most favorite healthy snack combo!), or a wedge of your favorite cheese. (My fave is Full Moon from Beehive Cheese. Sooo yum!)
One of my current favorite things… well, actually I love it year-round…. is the self-tanning spray, Fake Bake. I know I’ve told you about it before, but this stuff is so great! I’ve made friends with my pale skin and am not one to tan, but come winter, my pale skin can look a little deathly. So, there are actually THREE things I love. First of course, is the Fake Bake. It goes on so easy, has a great non-orange color, and doesn’t make you smell funky! I use that when I’m serious about adding a little color. For maintenance and a daily body lotion, I like to use L’oreal Sublime Glow. Finally, to be able to spread that lotion in the middle of your back, the Aquasentials Easy Lotion Applicator.
I love cute pajamas. They’re so fun to wear AND I love being warm and comfy. Ahhh… So, I’ve had my eyes on the pajamas by Splendid. They’re super cute and reviewers love them! Several different styles and colors to choose from.
Bundle this gift with: Haflinger Slippers (my favorite! They’re comfy, don’t make your feet sweat AND they have an arch. I currently have the Charisma style.), a 5 pack of EOS Lip Balm, or a Mighty Bright Book Light.
Sephora always has the coolest gift sets. I love checking them out every year to see what they bundle together! This year, I’m loving the L’Occitane Hands Cream of Provence set. Those lotions are SO nice. I love to have one in my purse and next to my bed.
The 2014 Sephora Fragrance Sampler is always a fun one. You get a sample of a bunch of perfumes. After you decide which is your fave, you take the included gift card into the store to get a full-size version!
Buxom Winner Takes All is a fun set. I love Buxom lip glosses. They’re pretty, non-sticky, and make your lips tingle for a minute… weird, but I like it.
Finally, the Fresh Sugar Cravings Kissing Trio. This stuff feels like heaven, on your lips. Mmmmm….
I’ve gone back and forth about TOMS. Sometimes I think they’re ugly and want nothing to do with them. Other times I think they’re cute and want to fill my closet with them. I’m crazy. At this very moment, I’m having a good TOMS day and these Burlap TOMS are calling my name. Burlap’s perfect for the season.

TOMS are always on my list! I got a cute crochet pair for my birthday a couple of years ago (by which I mean, I bought them for myself and told my husband my birthday was covered… hahaha!). Target has a great collab with TOMS right now, too.
