I really don’t care too much for New Years. It’s not just that we have yet another reason to over-eat (which I always do), stay up late (which I am having a harder and harder time doing), or deal with the nuclear fallout which are my grumpy kids (and their grumpy parents) the day after. It’s the whole New Year’s resolution forum I hold in the highest disdain as well. In fact, I have boycotted the whole institution of resolution making for the last several years. I just can’t see why I should set goals that I most likely will not have the will-power to achieve.
I know, it is hard enough to keep your own personal resolutions and goals. Why would you want to set goals with your family too? Well, because setting goals together and working towards goals, brings us closer as a family. It builds unity, trust and is a great opportunity to teach our children skills and values.
Whether your family has a word of the year, sets resolutions, or you have goals that you want your family to work on this year, here are tips to help your family stick with those resolutions so you can improve and grow together.
So, I’m not OFFICIALLY back from my Christmas blog break, yet. Soon, soon. But, I couldn’t resist sharing with you a round-up of fabulous treats and appetizers for New Year’s Eve parties! I know that’s what I’m thinking about and I bet a lot of you are too. I hope these give you some inspiration!
Hey Everyone, it’s Kimberly from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. It feels like just yesterday I was giving tips on how to keep cool at Disneyland this summer and today the Disneyland Resort is kicking off their official holiday season! Crazy! If you have been wondering about a trip to Disneyland during the holidays, there are a few things to know.
First of all, the official Holidays at the Disneyland Resort begin TODAY and continue through January 6, 2015. More on what to expect at Disneyland during the holidays to come below… with pictures of course.
Secondly, there are a couple of ways to do it. You can travel before the holidays to kick off the season with your family, or can travel over the actual holidays and forget about all of the normal holiday prep, cooking, etc. No matter when you plan on traveling during the holidays, consider making it your family’s main Christmas present. We have lots of fun ideas on how to give the gift of a vacation on GetAwayToday.com.
I love discovering new and great online shops and I just recently heard about Erin Condren. Have you heard of it? It’s where you get ‘personalized, stylized, and organized.’ I checked it out and… um, pretty much want one of everything. Note cards, address labels, announcements, wrapping paper, note pads, ect. But, they are mostly known for their awesome, customizable planners for organization. I just ordered one a couple weeks ago and have been so proud of it. It’s so CUTE and totally appeals to my girly-girl side, with customized stickers, colorful pens, organization pockets, and inspirational quotes.
It’s that time of year?? Anyone else still proudly kicking butt at their New Year’s resolutions? I hope so, it’s still January! So, recently I started thinking about all my favorite apps that I use to help me stay on top of things. Then, I asked the gals on Facebook about their favorites. I checked them out and now have some new favorites. Here’s a list of my top 10 productivity apps for helping you keep your goals (or New Year’s resolutions.)

A clean slate, a chance to do anything you want and start fresh! I was really excited to do a simple activity with my kids to help them learn about goals and have fun making a visual that we could focus on ALL year long to remember what we want to accomplish in 2014.
First up I made this printable to hang in our home. I love this quote and have found it to be so true in my personal life. There is so much power in simply believing in ourselves!
