Hey there, my name is Nichole and I am super excited to share with you a few of my favorite things. First I’ll introduce myself, just so you know who you are taking advice from.

I’m a 33 year old newly wed who met, dated and got engaged her sexy husband in 6 days. Believe me, I was the first person to knock that kind of thing until it happened to me. We are very happily married for 6 months and I know we made the right choice. I spend my days working with little ones and honing my homemaking skills. You know, things like cooking, sewing, crafts of all kinds and reading. I am slightly obsessed with Pinterest and I have a goal to pin at least one thing a week from my boards and I blog about it over at Pin it Make it. I also blog at Fit with a Side of Cheesecake about my weight loss journey and staying fit. Come say hi.
And I love all things yellow.
Ok, now that you know who you are dealing with, lets get to the fun stuff…my favorite things! When Mariel asked me to write this post I started thinking automatically of a few of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
Gift Ideas for Women:
Have you fallen in love with the humor and smarts of The Big Bang Theory yet? After a crazy day at work the hubs and I love to plop on the couch and enjoy some Sheldon-isms. We laugh and can’t get enough. This is a smart and funny comedy that everyone can get into. You can pick up seasons of this CBS show at any major retailer, on Netflix and can purchase season passes or episodes on Amazon and Itunes. A season will run you between $20-$40 and an episode of the current season about $2 each. Believe me, it is worth every Penny. (pun was definitely intended)
I am a sucker for straws. I always have a few in the house. It can dress up any drink and sure makes an impression on those unexpected summer guests. I love these yellowed striped ones from Etsy.  At 25 for $4 they are a fun purchase. You can get any color and in whatever quantity you want.
In the summer I love to drink flavored water. I try to keep hydrated but cut back on the sugar so I am in love with these pitchers. I personally love infusing my water with citrus and cucumber and adding one of those cute yellow striped straws from etsy. It sure helps make those hot summer days more fun. You can grab this one at Chef’s Resource for $27.95 or find a cheap one at Target for about $7.
I love a good necklace. This one is one of my favorites. You can get them to say anything you want but this happy one makes me smile. Plus I can already see it with some of summer outfits and I love it! This one is from Piano Bench Designs on Cargoh. For $36 is it a great addition to my jewelry box.
If you want to spend some real cash on a real keepsake piece of jewelry, plop down $195 at Brevity on this stunner. You can personalize it and I keep hinting to the hubs that if he can spot me the $200 I’ll let it say his name. We’ll see how that goes.
I am a shoe junkie. I have lots of shoes and I have a few pair that I just plain wear out. These are one of those. They are the perfect summer shoe when you need something easy to slip on and off and you want something a little sturdier than the flip flops we live in. The red and white stripes are calling to me this year but they have every thing from black to gold color wise. Not to mention with a good support you can walk around in these for hours and your feet will love you. You can snag these at aerosoles.com for $59.

I have had an iphone for a little over 3 years now and I love it. What I don’t love is the lack of great cases that no one else has. I hate walking into a room and seeing someone else with the same case as me. Silly I know. So here are my two current favorites. The first is from society6 and I love the typeset style, fun, chic and totally me.

I love the second one and have been dying to get my hands on one of these. The cross stitch iphone case allows you to create your own design and when you are tired of it, to take it out and make a new one. Easy and fun. You can get the case in lots of different colors for about $9 on amazon. Plus, what a fun idea for kids to make one for mothers day or fathers day instead of those boring old coffee mugs. Idea are endless!

The last of my favorites is series of books. These books are classified as “culinary mystery’s” and they are such a fun summer read! The first book in the series by author Josi Kilpack is Lemon Tart. You will fall for the main character Sadie and her inability to stay out of the action and for the delicious recipes that fill the book. Not only are they a fun read but are a great book to read with friends, try the recipes and chat about the book. The recipes range from easy and yummy to a little more complex and interesting. My friends and I love reading them and trying new recipes, though we haven’t tried the recipe for bacon ice cream. You can purchase the book on amazon in paper back or download it onto your kindle or kindle app. I high recommend these books for a hot summer afternoon read by the pool.
Those are just a few of my favorite things. I hope some of my favorites become your favorites.~ Nichole
