16 Birthday Party Ideas for Teenage Girls

Teenage birthday parties are tough because princess and pirate themes are no longer an option and you’re limited to what’s “cool,” which is an ever-changing and somewhat risky thing for parents to shoot for… That being said, I went hunting and found 16 birthday party ideas for teenagers that I think (hey, I’m just shooting to be cool too) could win you the title of “Cool Parent” (at least until you have to take away their cell phone again) and make your teenager’s next birthday party the best yet!

2-Minute Washi Tape Toppers (she: Mel)

Hello there, Or So She Says readers! My name is Melissa, but you can me Mel. I blog over at So Festive!, a blog featuring all sorts of simple ideas to make your holidays, parties, and life more festive. I’m super excited to be a new holidays and party contributor here. My entire goal is to share real ideas for real people and inspire you to make life more festive. Because life is to be enjoyed, right? I’ll show you how, simply. I certainly don’t have an endless budget, nor do I always have the time to run to the store to get a last-minute supply. And heaven knows half of my festive ideas come about 15 minutes before the party starts. So I have to improvise. You’d be surprised at how many things you can do with the stuff you already have. My post for today is all about that: using up something you probably have in your craft drawer. Or room. (Whatever type of person you are.) Today’s idea takes just a few minutes, and I think you’ll love it.

Banana Split Mini Bundt Cakes (she: Allie)

Banana Split Mini Bundt Cakes are such a Fun Treat! Moist Banana Cake is Filled with Pineapple, and Topped with Strawberry Buttercream, Chocolate Sauce, Peanuts, and a Cherry on Top. Perfect for your next Party!

When I think of Spring, I think of birthday parties. Both my boys were Spring babies, and I love that! When they were first born, I loved that just when we were ready to venture out of our little cocoon, gorgeous warm breezes were beckoning us to go on long stroller walks. And now that they’re bigger, I love that presents, parties, and games are there for them, just when their house-bound stir-craziness is at a fever pitch.

Since baking’s my favorite, I always try to come up with something super-special and fun for them on their birthdays. I think these Banana Split Mini Bundt Cakes definitely fit the bill!

Celebrating children on a “HOORAY” kind of day (she: Veronica)

Hello friends! I hope everyone had a happy Valentine’s Day! In my home, when Valentine’s Day hits, I know that chaos is about to follow. Four out of eleven of our birthdays are in March, so it’s time to get ready. Celebrating children includes one of my favorite birthday traditions, which is linked to one of my favorite items. My sister Mallorie instructed me that I was to hang my banner, and pull out my plate for all those “HOORAY” moments that take place in our lives. Given the number of kids in our home, we have those moments all the time. Birthdays are my favorite. It always goes up and most of the time it stays up for the next day or so, just because I love the reminder of what the word “HOORAY” stands for.

Lego Party Favor Bags (she: Jessica)

Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m so excited to be here as the newest craft contributor! I blog over at Cutesy Crafts where I show off all of the fun things that I make for my kids and my home.

Recently, my son had his 6th birthday party. I always like to make some sort of handmade party favor. Last year, the theme was superheroes. His theme of choice this year? Legos! Seriously, that boy would sit and build Legos all day if I let him! I thought it would be fun for each of the boys at the party to draw a face on their own Lego party favor bag. They turned out so cute!

I bought some cute little 5 1/2 inch tote bags at the craft store and stenciled each bag with a Lego head. I made these stencils using vinyl, but you can also use the freezer paper method. Download the Lego head template here and just cut it out with scissors. Center the stencils on the bags and paint with a matte fabric paint. For the best results, start on the stencil and paint in toward the center. This prevents paint from being pushed under the stencils.

Circle Tulle Banner Tutorial (she: Jeanie)

Hi again! It’s Jeanie from Create & Babble, back today to share a tutorial on how I made this pretty banner using tulle circles. There are so many occasions where this banner could be used: baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties or in my case: no occasion at all! Besides this banner being incredibly easy to make, it costs next to nothing to make!

All you need to make this banner are tulle circles in the color(s) of your choice, sewing machine or needle and thread. I had some tulle circles on hand. Why would I have tulle circles on hand?

‘Happy Birthday, dear family…’ ~ Celebrating Your Anniversary With The Kids!

Dan and I just celebrated our 13 year anniversary, on June 2nd. Yay!!! It happened to fall on a Sunday, the day we go to church, don’t shop, eat out, etc. So, we celebrated on Friday. It was super fun. We decided to get an overnight babsitter and do a little stay-cation in Ogden, just 10 minutes from our house. We found a great hotel, walked the historic streets, saw a flick, and ate way too much food. I loved it!

Anyway, so since we ended up being home on our actual anniversary, I started to think about how it’s sorta-like our family’s birthday…so, why not celebrate with the kids?? It was a last minute decision, so I didn’t have all the fixins I would have liked, but it still ended up being a wonderful night with the fam.
