Gratitude Family Home Evening – Lesson & Activities!

There are many ways to think and thank. This idea was originally introduced by the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in an address given in 1998. In this talk, Thomas Monson mentions three different instances where saying, “thank you” could bring about happiness and good. He counseled that we should say thank you to our parents, to a teacher or coach, and to a friend.

Turkey Tales – A Fun Thanksgiving Tradition

At my kids’ school, we asked dads, grandpas, uncles, older brothers, basically any adult male to come into the classroom, read a story/tale to the class, and then bring a neck tie to leave with the class to pin on the turkey as the turkey’s “tale” feathers. If you don’t have a school setting to use this activity for, then use your own home! You could ask the males to bring a story and tie for Thanksgiving Day or decorate tale feathers and add to the turkey.

Let the kids color this beautiful free printable thankful coloring page to display during the holiday. It's a great reminder of the reason for the season.

Free Printable Thankful Coloring Page (she: Liz)

We have all been blessed with talents and around our house I always teach my kids that practice makes us better. I thought it would be fun to create something fun for both me and the kids this month. My kids love being creative and I have been practicing my hand lettering this year. I thought a hand lettered printable coloring page would be something fun that we could all do together.

32 Thanksgiving Sides – Sure to be Crowd-Pleasers! (she: Mariah)

Every Thanksgiving I get asked to bring a side dish to Thanksgiving dinner; this is something I am very thankful for! I’m going to let my mom and mother-in-law handle the heavy duty Thanksgiving dinner items for as long as possible. Preparing and cooking a turkey for 20+ people is not a skill I’ve developed yet, but side dishes? Those I can handle.
