Last month when I popped in to share my Spring Bottle Vases, I was just embarking on our most epic DIY journey yet as we signed on to take part in the One Room Challenge. Have you heard of it? Basically, we committed to making over one room in our home in just six weeks. Yep, SIX weeks! It was an absolute whirlwind, but I’m thrilled to say we made it through the other side and we really couldn’t be happier with the results! Curious about which room we chose to transform? You can check out our final reveal here! Here’s a little hint: it may just involve a perfectly weathered wood plank wall!
At this very moment, I’m smack dab in the middle of what is surely one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever had, but I’m happy to be taking a much needed break today to share a quick and easy DIY project so perfect for Summer: milk bottle vases! They’re such a nice pop of color in my home.
Antique Window Makeover – making it in the mountainsIn our old home, I had this lovely vintage window hanging over our fireplace. It’s so full of chippy rustic charm and I really love the personality that it injects into the room! Right from the start, I liked the white paint on the front, but I have to admit, I wasn’t exactly fond of the dark green colour on the side and back. Time for a makeover me-thinks!
Hello again OSSS readers! I’m Kristi from making it in the mountains and I’m back again to share another favorite recipe! This quick dish has been an absolute life saver as we trudge through month two of moving (you can check out a sneak peek of our new home here). Yes, you read that right … TWO MONTHS! Ugh! Anyway, all whining aside, this pasta salad has become our go-to side dish simply because it’s SO easy to whip up a big ol’ batch of it, not to mention it’s SUPER yummy and goes with pretty much everything! I just know y’all are going to LOVE it too!
Good morning! I’m SO over-the-moon excited to be here today sharing my very first guest post as an OSSS contributor for 2015 – I’m looking forward to sharing here on the fourth Thursday of each and every month! If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, I’m Kristi, the gal behind making it in the mountains where I share all sorts of budget friendly DIY projects as we work to transform our builder basic home into a rustic mountain retreat.
I know, I know … everybody claims that their recipe is THE BEST, right? I promise friends, this one is the real deal! It’s the best French Onion Soup I’ve ever had! I mean EVER! Cross my heart, hope to die. But don’t take my word for it – go ahead and try it for yourself. It’s SO easy to make that there’s really no excuse not to.
