May Inspiration ~ Using Clean Language (Free Printable!)

May Inspiration ~ Using Clean Language (Free Printable!)

We use my iPad a lot for homeschool. Every morning, we watch the CNN Student News (so awesome) and often times we watch YouTube videos related to whatever we’re learning about (Queen Elizabeth, the Inquisition, whales, etc.) One of our favorite things to watch on YouTube as part of our scripture/value study are the Mormon Messages for Youth. The church puts together such inspirational, thought-provoking, and conversation-starting videos. There might be a few that would be a little confusing if you weren’t Mormon, but most of them could be applicable and inspirational to any one, of any faith. ANYWAY. What I’m trying to get at is there was this particular video that really impressed me about using clean language. It kicked off a great conversation with my kids, and later that night I had to show it to the man, so we could talk about it together.

At first sight, I thought my kids might think it was pretty corny. But, it’s actually way interesting…

Mini Pepper Poppers (she: Cathy)

Hi there! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling and I’m back with a last minute idea for your Cinco de Mayo party! A new twist on an old favorite: Bacon-Wrapped Mini Pepper Poppers! Colorful, fun, tasty, and not too spicy….so everyone can enjoy them!

Do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I have to admit….it always seems like a fun idea, but we have never really celebrated. This year feels like it might be different, though. The warmer weather is finally here….and we are in a celebrating kind of mood! These mini pepper poppers are just the right way to get the party started!

But, as you know, not everyone likes their peppers spicy. Jalapeno poppers easily leave out half the crowd….so why not use mini sweet peppers instead? Simply cut off the stems, remove the seeds, and stuff the peppers with your favorite cream cheese (Vegetable? Chive & Onion? Or, for a touch of spice, maybe Jalapeno??) Then wrap the peppers with bacon, secure with a toothpick, and roast until the bacon is cooked through and charred around the edges. Voila! A quick, easy, and incredibly delicious snack that everyone can enjoy!!

My Favorite Things ~ Gift Ideas for Women

Suh-weet, it’s my turn! I’ve got lots of new favorites, since last year, so I’m anxious to share them with you. Let’s get started!

I just had my second pedicure ever a couple months ago. This time I opted to try the shellac (gel nails) to hopefully have the polish last longer. It was a couple days before baby Ben was born, and I wanted pretty toes so that when I glanced down at my soon-to-be saggy belly, I would be distracted by my shiny, cute toes. Anyway, I LOVED the whole shellac thing. It literally stayed on for 3 weeks and stayed as shiny as day 1. It was awesome. Once it started looking ratty, I removed it and longed to have it done again. But, six kids at home…new baby? I don’t think so. So, while decompressing at my local Target, I noticed gel polish kits. Hello! Yes. I picked one up and have been a fan ever since.

My Favorite Things ~ Gift Ideas for Women (she: Taralyn)

Hello lovelies! My name is Taralyn and I am excited to share a few of my favorite things with you! As the mama of Lily (5), Cortland (3), and Kyler (1), I wear many different shoes. There are my laced-up tennies for Fly Ladying it up, slippers for kicking back and relaxing, running shoes for 5K training, and heels for date night. My blog Keep Moving Forward With Me follows my footsteps as I make progress in all areas of my life. I’d love to have you join me on Pinterest or Facebook!

I am always on the lookout for products that make my life easier as a woman, wife, mom, and blogger. It’s hard to narrow the list down to a few of my favorite things, but here it goes!

As a mom of busy littles, a 3-minute shower may be the longest me-time of the day. And even then those cute little fingers make their way under the door! I’ve been experimenting with various natural soaps to see which ones give me the most “ahhhhhh” factor. Last year I discovered the Ancient Seas Spa Bar by Sego Lily Soaps and I’ve never looked back. It has a calming and balanced aroma that features notes of lemongrass and black current with hints of patchouli, sugar cane and lime. Sounds (and smells) divine, right? Love that it is locally made – gotta support small businesses! Five dollars a bar and worth every pretty penny for how it makes my skin feel.

My Favorite Things ~ Gift Ideas for Women (she: Amy)

Hi, I’m Amy from Commona-my House! I’m a mom of 4 and love sharing home inspiration ideas on my blog. We’ve moved all over the world. And settled (for now) in the MidWest. I’ve loved something about each region (and countries) where we have lived and traveled to. I believe that things aren’t just ‘things’ if you surround yourself with objects that are meaningful to you….

So, with that in mind, I am so excited to share my favorite things with you, just in time for Mother’s Day! I’m pretty eclectic…and so is my list!

Classic Monogram Necklaces will never go out of style. There are so many out there on the market today, but I tend to gravitate to the simple ones…they’ll go with everything and I think simple always = elegant. The Vintage Pearl specializes in personalized jewelry in silver and gold. This classic gold initials necklace with their signature pearl drop would make any gal swoon.

My Favorite Things ~ Gift Ideas for Women (she: Katie)

Hello! My name is Katie, and I blog over at Clarks Condensed! If you’ve ever visited, you probably know that I love babies, food, and my husband. My husband, Forrest, and I met three-and-a-half years ago while attending the same college, and were married about a year later. And one year, three months later, our sweet little guy, Jack, was born. It’s been a crazy adventure becoming a mother, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Motherhood is the most tiring, yet rewarding, job I’ve ever had, but each day is filled with joy. I just graduated with a degree in print journalism, and looking forward to what the future holds.

While Forrest and Jack are definitely my favorite things, I don’t want any of you to come snatch them up. So here are some of my next favorite things, that are almost as good.

This is probably our most used wedding gift (unlike the fine china that still has yet to be opened…) I was so excited that someone bought us a Crock Pot that was much nicer than the one we registered for! This one has a digital timer, and it automatically turns to low when the designated time is reached. No more having to time everything perfectly! It’s big and durable, and I see it lasting us for a long time. It’s definitely worth the extra price to get one with that digital timer though.
