Did you know everything tastes better on a stick?? Just ask my kids; they’ll tell you. Put a bunch of healthy, boring food on a skewer, and you instantly have a yummy snack that they kids are excited about! It’s almost what one would call…amazing.

Scouring through my fridge and pantry, I pulled out a handful of healthy and skewerable items to set out on the table. Ding, ding, ding…’come grab a snack’, and the kids were having a heyday.

I rounded up some pickles, honeydew, cantaloupe, cheese square, grapes, salami, olives, and Capri Sun Super V Fruit and Vegetable drinks.

Have you seen those new drinks?? I’m kind of in love. For one, my kids are faithful drinkers of Capri Suns. For two, these are a billion times more healthy (less sugar, 3 g. fiber, no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, real fruit and veggie juice.) For three, there are no pictures of veggies on the pouches. Yay! That SO matters. My kids would never go for a drink with a picture of a carrot on it. (Maybe they’re spoiled, but it’s a fact.) But, anything in a Capri Sun pouch, without a veggie picture, they will happily put in their mouths.

Hee hee…I love being sneaky. The only problem I have with Capri Suns is how FAST they disappear. I have to be ever on-guard if I want them to last longer than an hour…something I was quickly reminded of the other day.

I picked up two boxes…TWO BOXES of the Capri Sun Super V, and yes, it took TWO hours and they were gone. Between my five kids and their cousins, the very sight of the shiny foil package made them endlessly thirsty. It’s crazy the effect it can have.

I’m glad my kids like them. I never heard one peep about them tasting weird or ‘healthy’, so I’m in the clear. But, I’ll be thinking of a new hiding place.

Anyway, there are so many options out there for healthy Kid’s Kabobs: assorted cheeses, deli meats, meatballs, nuggets, veggies, fruits, cut granola bar squares, tortellini, folded fruit leather, yogurt covered raisins, dried fruits, squares of whole wheat bread, and many more!

I can’t wait to try the new Capri suns! For me it’s best if I avoid buying those unhealthy, pre-packaged snacks. I try to offer healthy choices to my kids. We don’t do soda or other juice boxes because of the amount of sugar they contain.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

My kids love to dip things so my tip would be to have some kind of dip available for all fruits and veggies.
