I’ve been thinking about love a lot lately… SO, I thought for today’s inspirational post I would share some of my favorite love finds. I hope it inspires you to find more ways in which you can feel and show your love. Enjoy!!
We love to read around here and nothing makes reading to the kids more fun than an upcoming holiday! It’s fun to build on their excitement and make the holiday last a little longer than one day. Halloween is a favorite holiday in my home… so, the kids are bummed that I’m taking a year…
It’s Halloween time! And, with six kiddos, there is NO forgetting it. It may be their most favorite time of the year! They already have their trick-or-treating route completely mapped and they’re adding to it daily. I mean, REALLY… a large map (several pieces of paper taped together) of drawn houses, with stars by the ones they think will give the biggest treats. I may be driving around for hours! Ha, but it’s awesome to see them so excited. I’m a Halloween fan too.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies! I’m a big fan of pumpkin desserts… pumpkin cookies, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin breads, you name it. For today’s post, I wanted to combine the best of all of them (the cookies, the cream cheese frosting, and the chocolate!) Who wants some?!? The cookie recipe is from my favorite pumpkin cookies (with buttercream frosting) that I’ve shared before… so, it’s fun to have two different things that you can do with the same recipe.

Hey ladies! If you’re itching to go on a cruise, October is the month to book it! My trusty friends at Get Away Today just announced all the latest and greatest from each of the major cruise lines. My husband and I (along with his siblings) are planning on doing our first cruise together this coming January. We went on an Alaskan cruise, just the two of us, earlier this year. And, we’ve done a couple with the kids (our Disney Cruise). So, this will be a first with other couples. We’re way excited! And of course, Get Away Today is helping me put the whole things together, since I’m obsessed with them. They make it super easy!!
Not that you NEED an invitation, but I’m personally inviting you to watch the LDS General Conference this weekend. It is AWESOME, my friends. Really. I look forward to it every year and without fail, I come away wanting to be a better person and feeling a great sense of peace (which I SO need in my life.)

I’m a cake girl. Donuts, candy, cookies… I could take or leave. But, cake?? I’m all over it. Banana Cake, Strawberry Cake, Chocolate Cake and Toffee Coffee Cake, baby. This is a simple cake, that’s great served warm with ice cream, or room temp, with a dollop of whipped cream. Have you ever looked up the definition for ‘dollop’? Get this: “a shapeless mass or blob of something.” That kinda sound gross. Definitely does not do justice for the heaven that is whipped cream.
So, this Toffee Coffee Cake recipe comes from Hershey’s. I knew I needed it in my life, the minute I saw it was filled with pieces of Heath Bar. Oh, and then there’s the fact that it’s cake.
Let’s get to it…
There’s cause for celebration around here. I finally, FINALLY, got pictures of the kids up on the wall! It only took 8 years. Eight years of taking pictures of the kids, planning on printing and framing them, never doing it, then a year later taking new pictures of the kids, never printing and framing, then a year later… repeat a total of 8 times. Sigh… sometimes there are just more important things in life than a gallery wall, but I must say, I’m super excited to have it up! I love walking in the room, and seeing all my kiddo’s smiling faces up on the wall. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful decoration. I’m so proud to be their mother!
I love swiping recipes from my mom. Seriously, if she makes it and serves it, it’s good. Well, unless it has mayo or onions in it… then, it can’t be good, cause I’m still 5 years old. But, THIS sandwich, folks… one of my faves. In the past, I’ve coerced my mommy to make them for me. But, then I thought of you. And, me. You know, how we share everything? I share my tastiest recipes, you share them on Pinterest and Facebook. It’s a lovely BFF relationship. Blog Friends Forever, that’s us. So, I convinced mom that you need in on this goodness, and she agreed.
