Hello again! It’s Carmella from the Creative Carmella Blog! I am so happy to be back here at Or So She Says to share a fun and easy craft project.

I have learned that some of my favorite creative projects have been those that don’t require anything special to make.  Only using what I had at home, I made a little tin can vase, perfect for a surprise gift for a friend or to spruce up a drab corner of your house.

DIY tin can vase

I used a small, tomato paste can for this one, but any size will work!

Next, I used a Sharpie to mark the line of my “petals” on the lid and carefully cut it out.

To make sure the edges wouldn’t cut me or anyone else, I used sandpaper to smooth down any sharp edges.

Once the edges are all smooth, you can bend the petals outward.

Now, you are ready for spray paint! Any color combo that you like and there are tons of spray paint colors to choose from these days!

After the can and flower were painted and dried, I gathered some embellishments to make it even sweeter 😉 Old buttons, fabric, or even a sparkly earring that has lost its match are perfect additions.

Just hot glue everything into place and it’s ready to go!

Thanks so much for reading! I see you again next month! Until then, don’t forget to stop by my blog or Instagram to say hello!

Cute! I love how you used the lid to make the flower. It’s an all-in-one project!
