Good to see you again!  Get ready for another week of Mariel’s Picks.  Today is all about gift ideas for women.

Let’s start out with something from my own ‘wish list’.  And, I promise…the other things in this post aren’t as expensive as this.  But, I still had to share it because it’s sooooo cool.  Okay, so it’s called the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II.  If you have a wireless device (like an iphone, ipad, etc.),  you can play your music through this without even docking it, plugging it in, or anything…it’s all wirelessly connected!  I would love this in my kitchen.  It would be nice to not have to remove my protective iphone cover to dock it, or even plug it in.  I can still walk around the house and use my phone, without it being confined to the counter.  It would also love it for homeschool reasons…bring it in the family room for audiobooks, playing classical music, and so on.

Who doesn’t love Downton Abbey??  The new season starts in January and I can’t wait!  It’s about time.  I was so happy to even get my manly husband hooked on them, which makes watching it even more fun.  So, for all the Downton Abbey lovers, I found these fun items:

‘I Love You More Than Downton’ Letterpress Cards from Foxy & Winston
The World of Downton Abbey, a book by Jessica Fellowes
Show your support for Mr. Bates, ‘Free Bates’ T-shirt.  Several colors available.

And, of course…for those who haven’t seen Downton Abbey yet, OR just want the seasons on DVD, here ya go: Season One , Season Two, and Season Three (released Jan. 29, 2013)

I love the non-boring scarves found in the Etsy shop, Fatwoman & Anils.  Non-boring is good.

After 9 months of gaining weight, I’m always anxious for the day where I can fit in my old clothes again.  After this baby comes and I’m feeling up to exercising, I’m thinking I want to try this Insanity DVD program.  From what I hear, it’s similar to P90-X, but more focused on losing inches than building muscle, and people love it.

Does the special lady in your life (or you) have a location that is close to her heart??  Maybe somewhere she has lived all their life, a favorite place to visit, the place where she grew up, or where her ancestors are from.  If so, I think these necklaces would be perfect!  Etsy has tons of them, just do a search (all price ranges.)  I love this particular one, though more expensive than many of the others ($40) because it’s in done in sterling silver and has more of a professional look.

So, maybe it’s weird to give someone a great kitchen knife, but it doesn’t have to be.  Pair it with an nice cutting board, oven mit, bread pans, or a loaf of fresh bread, and you’ve got an awesome gift.  Plus, this particular bread knife, the Victorinox Swiss Army Bread Knife, is awesome, by itself.  It’s one of Amazon’s best selling kitchen products and gets perfect 5 star reviews.  I have one, myself, and am always impressed by it…not only by the performance, but the price!  For just $25 bucks, this is a steal!

Last year, one of my sister-in-laws gave her mom the neatest pieces of art, a personalized family tree.  I think that’s such a fun idea, and I’ve seen several that I love around the internet…

Custom Family Tree from Shabby Ladybug

Personalized Family Tree from Stem & Leaf
Custom Family Portrait Tree from Creative Family Tree
See you tomorrow for even more gift ideas!
