The New Disney Fantasy is the sister ship to the also fabulous Disney Dream. The Fantasy will be sailing seven night itineraries to the Western and Eastern Caribbean, where the Dream sails shorter cruises (three and four nights). With that in mind, Disney created more options for guests to experience while on board. Some of my favorite additions were Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Animators Palate’s new show.
Bibbity Bobbity Boutique is every young girl’s dream! It allows you to dress like your favorite princess. Imagine your young princess getting all made up for the formal “balls” on board, or your young pirate to be become a “swashbuckling Bucanneer” for the Pirate themed party and fireworks onboard.
Disney Cruise Line exclusively offers rotational dining for its cruise guests. This allows you to dine at each of the themed restaurants on board several nights during your stay. The bonus is that your serving staff rotates with you. Animators Palate especially provided an exceptional experience. One night you are able to dine with Crush from the popular Finding Nemo film and then a few nights later you can experience an animation surprise like no other. You’re able to draw a stick figure on your placemat that magically comes to life during the dining experience- what a treat! Your kids will be so entertained at the restaurants! (And did I mention the food was delicious, I didn’t want to come home!)
There is so much to do onboard this ship! The pool deck is designed for hours of fun! The Aqua Duck is the first water coaster at sea. It is such a blast! The Mickey’s Pool and Donald’s Pool are filled with activities. And for adults, I loved how relaxing the adult pool area was and the spa was unbelievable (one of the nicest at sea). While you’re relaxing at the adult area, the kids can enjoy the award winning kids camps. Disney has dedicated nearly an entire deck for state of the art kids clubs. Your kids will feel like they’ve walked into Andy’s Room from Toy Story or they’re exploring deep in the sea in Finding Nemo. The kids clubs are themed incredibly- they make you want to be a kid again! And for teens and tweens, their “hang-out” areas are awesome! They’re definitely hip.
You are surrounded by Disney entertainment onboard. I looked forward to the Broadway style shows in the evening. The fireworks at sea are exclusive to Disney and on this ship the show was at least 10 minutes long and was choreographed to the Pirates of the Caribbean music.
And of course, you have Disney magic surrounding you. It’s pretty cool to be walking through the hall and run into Goofy or Minnie Mouse. That adds the perfect bit of magic to any family vacation.
Disney is constantly voted the top family cruise line by Conde Nast. I completely agree. All the details are taken care of for you—from your dining, to entertainment, to even the kids camps. Everything is included, which makes for an incredible value for families.
Two tips: First, I definitely recommend a cruise on the Disney Fantasy and onboard Disney’s other fabulous ships. I would try to choose a sailing that visits Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay. It’s a family beach dream! I love riding bikes around the island and participating in the 5K in the morning. You are surrounded by Disney 100%, there are no residents on the island, it’s totally Disney! Second, book early for the best prices! With Disney, they naturally sell out quickly, so don’t think you’ll get a better deal by waiting. Right now is perfect for booking into the winter of 2013. Our Cruise Specialists would love to help you out, so feel free to give them a call for more info at 877.510.2929.
