It’s hard to think of anything other than summer fun in the July heat, but winter will be here before you know it. At Get Away Today we’re already getting calls from families who know it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays. If you’re toying with the idea of visiting Disneyland or surprising your family with a vacation this holiday season, NOW is the time to start planning.  It’s no secret that one of my favorite destinations is Disneyland and I absolutely LOVE Disneyland over the holidays. In fact, I love it so much I’m in the process of planning my own family’s trip for December. Here are some of the whys and hows of getting your family’s holiday trip to Disneyland on the books today!

First,  WHY BOOK NOW: The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are the most magical time of year to visit – and there are definite cost benefits to planning your holiday travel early.  You’ll have access to the very best hotel and airfare deals by planning ahead. The holidays are an incredibly popular time to visit the Disney Parks, and when you go, you’ll see why. When you book now, you’re more likely able to get your first hotel choice and take advantage of the lowest rates – including free night specials. Both airfare and hotel rates go up closer to the holidays and it is incredibly rare to find a last-minute deal during Christmas break. Another financial benefit of planning ahead is you have plenty of time to pay for your vacation. You can start saving for meals and souvenirs now and have a nice little vacation fund by vacation time. Plus, Get Away Today offers an interest free layaway plan where you can hold your vacation for as little as $175 down and then pay as you go before you travel.

Second, WHY GO OVER THE HOLIDAYS: Disneyland is always magical, but it’s a little extra magical during the official holiday celebration. The festivities begin mid-November and extend through the first week of January. Here’s just a sneak peek at what your family can expect during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort:

  •  Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are completely decked out in holiday
  • Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle glistens with thousands of twinkling lights (there’s nothing more magical!)
  •  “it’s a small world” Holiday
  •   A Christmas Fantasy Parade
  • “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks show
  • Haunted Mansion Holiday

And finally, HOW TO TRAVEL: There are a few ways to do a holiday vacation to Disneyland. One way is to travel over the actual holidays. If you choose this route, you’ll want to be sure you get a Park Hopper ticket for as many days as possible. The Parks will be bustling with holiday crowds, so spreading out your visit will be the most pleasant way to experience everything. Another option is to travel during the celebration but avoid the actual holidays. Generally the parks will have lower attendance the week before Thanksgiving, the first two weeks of December and the first week of January. Either way, you can certainly give your family the gift of a Disneyland vacation and it’s sure to be everyone’s most memorable gift. In fact, it may just become a beloved family Christmas tradition!

Any of our agents at Get Away Today would love to help you book your next vacation at 855-GET-AWAY or visit www.getawaytoday.com.  And if you’re at Disneyland in December, maybe I’ll see you there!
