Hello everyone!  How are you all? It’s Brooke from Blissful Roots.  Are you in the full-swing of summer vacation mode? We sure are, and I’m loving every minute of it! My four-year-old, and I, are thrilled to have my twins home all day. It’s so fun to plan different activities, or just spend some relaxing playtime at home. I’m just hoping all of our summer vacation weeks go this smoothly!

easy father's day treat

So, today’s post.  I was in my favorite local scrapbook store (Pebbles in My Pocket) a few weeks ago, and they had this adorable, easy Father’s Day treat put together. Mustaches are everywhere these days, aren’t they?  And while my husband doesn’t have a mustache, and I don’t know that ties are his favorite, I absolutely loved how they dressed up a simple bag of candy (which my husband does love).

If you happen to live anywhere near  Pebbles in My Pocket (Orem, UT), you can stop by there and get the mustache, the tie, and even the little ‘Dad’ tag.  If not, no worries!  I found some links for you to use (see below).  You also can use any electronic cutting machine if you happen to have one of those with a tie and/or mustache image.  I do have a Cricut, but no mustaches or ties.

SUPPLIES

1 small bag of candy (you could use a larger bag, you would just need a larger mustache, tie, and tag to go on it)

1 – 4″ wide mustache cut out (click here for link, small, medium, or large size to choose from)

1- 3 3/4” long tie cut out (click here for link, and, if needed, adjust size when printing)

1 ‘Dad’ tag (type up your own, or nothing beats darling little handwriting, so have your kids write ‘Dad’ for the tag)

1 small rubber band (I used one of my boys’ Rainbow Loom bands– perfect size for a small bag)

Adhesive (I used a glue stick and hot glue)

Mustache & Tie Supplies

HOW TO

Twist the Rainbow Loom/ rubber band on to the top fourth of the candy bag

Adhere the mustache to the front of the tie (a glue stick works fine for this step)

Adhere the tie and mustache to the candy bag (hot glues works well)

Attach the ‘Dad’ tag (glue stick is fine here as well)

Mustache & Tie Band

How easy it that Father’s Day treat?!  And how cute?  This is the perfect project for kids because it’s so easy!  Each child could pick out a different bag of dad’s favorite candy, and you can make a whole bunch of these for dad.  A great way to add a special extra touch to dad’s favorite treats!

I do have to say the M&Ms bag is one of the bigger sizes of candy bags out there (don’t they seem to be shrinking?).  I was going to get some Reese’s Pieces for my husband, but the bag was so tiny that I was afraid the tie and mustache would look too huge on it.  You could adjust the tie and mustache sizes to be smaller for smaller bags of candy.

Mustache & Tie Treat

I have one more idea from Pebbles in my Pocket to share.  They have the best Father’s Day quotes to purchase!  I picked up a few when I was in their store, but you can download and print them out as well.  These are just a few here.  They have more to choose from!

Pebbles in my Pocket

Happy Father’s Day to all the dedicated daddies out there!  I’m totally spoiled to have the world’s best dad, and so are my boys.  They take time for us, work hard for us, teach us, and love us unconditionally!!  Thank goodness for dads!
