Primary Talk October 8: Obey Your Parents

One of the Ten Commandments is “Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother.” How can we honor our parents? One way, is to obey them!

When we obey our parents, we show them love and respect. Our parents give us rules and guide us for a reason. They love us and want us to be safe. If your mom asked you to stay away from a hot stove, would you obey? Or would you touch it? If you did touch the hot stove, you would get burned.

Did you know that we are blessed when we obey? It is true! Following the commandments and listening to our parents brings blessings. It helps us to not get burned by the hard things in life. I love my mom and dad and am grateful they are here to protect me and love me.

October 15 Primary Talk: My Faith Is Rooted In Jesus Christ

Trees and plants have roots. Why are the roots important? Here are three reasons:

• Roots anchor and support the plant. They keep it from tipping over and blowing away.
• Roots feed the plant. The roots collect water and nutrients from the soil and send it up to the stalk of the plant.
• Roots store nutrients. They keep food in reserve for when the plant needs to be fed.

Without good healthy roots, the plant would not be able to grow.

Did you know that Jesus Christ can act like the roots of our faith? Imagine Him as our roots. He will support us, feed us with truth, and be there when we need extra love and help! When we have faith in Jesus and build our lives around His teachings, we can grow and be strong in our faith.

Primary Talk October 22: Jesus Will Come Again

We all know that Jesus came to Earth many years ago. It is the Christmas Story! The angels sang from the heavens and the shepherds found him in a manger.

Did you know that Jesus is going to come back again? It is called the Second Coming. When Jesus comes again, He will be here to lead the Church and guide us! It will be very special.

We can prepare for Jesus to come again by learning about the Gospel and following the teachings of Christ. If we do our very best to follow the commandments and do what is right, we will know Jesus, because we will be like Him!

I am excited for Jesus to come again.

October 29 Primary Talk: The Bishop

We have a leader of our ward. He is the Bishop. The Bishop is a special person. He has a lot of things to do as the father of our ward!

The Bishop helps the Primary children and the youth. He goes to activities and spends time doing fun things with us. The Bishop collects tithing money. He gives people callings and interviews ward members for temple recommends. One of the best things the Bishop does is he gets to help people who are in need. He is able to give them money, food, and special guidance.

I know that if I need help, I can go to the Bishop. He cares about me and each of you! He wants us to be happy, just like Jesus does. We are lucky to have a Bishop!
