Has anyone else noticed, besides my family, that I haven’t been cooking as much?? It’s true. I totally agree with your responses, when I asked… we need to get more recipes on the blog! Everyone suffers when I’m on a diet. Just teasin, but I’m pretty sure at least once a week my kids will say, ‘Mom, do you fit into your jeans YET?!?’ They’re itching for some pancakes! Sunday is my ‘free day,’ and my kids don’t want me to make some never-made-before blog recipe, they want their old favorites. But we’ll compromise, and I promise I’ll get you (and me) some new recipes! …ya just gotta wait until my free day. EXCEPT for this recipe, Kale Chips. I could eat this any day of the week. It’s healthy, delicious, and a great snack. Even better, I’m not kidding… kids love it.
Cookie Butter Pretzel Dip (she: Cathy)
Hello, Or So She Says readers!! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling, back with another fun recipe to share with you. This time, I’m using Cookie Butter! Anyone who has ever tasted Cookie Butter can tell you just how amazing it really is….so amazing that, once you’ve had it, you can’t stop thinking about it! Which leads you to do things like eat it by the spoonful straight from the jar, and tell everyone you know about it, and come up with as many different ways as you can to use it (mostly because eating it straight from the jar only feels acceptable for so long….)
Well, with the start of the school year rapidly approaching, I thought it might be time for me to start dreaming up some Cookie Butter after-school snacks. I have two kiddos in school this year – one starting kindergarten and another starting second grade, and both of them LOVE Cookie Butter!
Ranch Snack Mix
My little Joey is always asking to help in the kitchen. But, he is quickly run over by several older siblings who insist that they get to help too. So, yesterday while all the wild ones were out on the trampoline, I snagged Joey and he helped me mix up this super easy snack. So easy that a two year old can make it!
We just called it Ranch Snack Mix. It’s a blend of all things kids love… pretzels, Bugles, Goldfish crackers, cashews, and Ranch dressing mix.
Mini Pepper Poppers (she: Cathy)
Hi there! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling and I’m back with a last minute idea for your Cinco de Mayo party! A new twist on an old favorite: Bacon-Wrapped Mini Pepper Poppers! Colorful, fun, tasty, and not too spicy….so everyone can enjoy them!
Do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I have to admit….it always seems like a fun idea, but we have never really celebrated. This year feels like it might be different, though. The warmer weather is finally here….and we are in a celebrating kind of mood! These mini pepper poppers are just the right way to get the party started!
Bacon-wrapped mini pepper poppers from Or So She Says via Lemon Tree Dwelling
But, as you know, not everyone likes their peppers spicy. Jalapeno poppers easily leave out half the crowd….so why not use mini sweet peppers instead? Simply cut off the stems, remove the seeds, and stuff the peppers with your favorite cream cheese (Vegetable? Chive & Onion? Or, for a touch of spice, maybe Jalapeno??) Then wrap the peppers with bacon, secure with a toothpick, and roast until the bacon is cooked through and charred around the edges. Voila! A quick, easy, and incredibly delicious snack that everyone can enjoy!!
Awesome Fresh Salsa ~ Perfect for Freezing!
Were you surprised by the new blog design?? I hope you’re getting used to it. I’ve got so much to learn, and still several things to adjust with the layout and look. So, if something looks off or missing, hang in there…I’m working on it! In the meantime… I’ve been looking for a favorite salsa […]
Southwestern Eggrolls ~ A Favorite Appetizer!
I love recipes that are easily varied to suit your tastes, and Southwestern Egg Rolls is certainly one of those! I have always had a major crush on the Southwestern Egg Rolls at Chili’s and figured I could probably save a lot of money and satisfy many cravings, by just making something similar at home. […]
Pumpkin and Fruit Smoothie (she: Angela)
At our house, we’ve been enjoying pretty much everything about fall. The new routine of school and other activities has helped our family find a nice rhythm and of course, we’ve been doing our share of fall baking. With fall baking, often there’s a little left over pumpkin puree in the fridge. Instead of letting it get […]
Fiesta Dip ~ Hello, Bachelorette Party
What’s a Bachelorette Finale Party without appetizers?? Um, lame. So, here I am thinking ahead, gearing up for the oh-so-obvious finale. It’s Ari, right?? My bets are on him. Dips are always my favorite appetizer. Can you tell? Avocado Feta Dip, Chocolate Cherry Dip, Caramel Toffee Dip, Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip, Queso Dip, Artichoke Spinach […]
Chocolate Cherry Fruit Dip
I’ve never really been a huge cherry fan, more specifically, a maraschino cherry fan. But, the other day I was scrolling through one of my favorite sites, Deals to Meals, stumbled on this recipe, and all of the sudden, I decided I was going to like cherries. Something about this recipe was calling my name, […]
Mexican Macaroni Salad
Tis the season for potlucks, BBQs, and family parties, right? And, of course you get the salad assignment. I must admit, that’s my least favorite assignment. I’m all about desserts and appetizers (because I get to eat them too), so my recipe collection in the salad department is lacking. However, I threw one together, over […]
Italian Nachos ~ (sausage, chicken, and all the yummy stuff!)
These Italian Nachos are deeeeeelicious. That’s all I have to say. To make them, you’ll need: a bag of tortilla chips, 4 small tomatoes, 10 pepperoncinis, 2 jalapenos, 1 can chopped olives, 1 lb diced chicken, 1 lb Italian sausage, 1/2 lb shredded mozzarella cheese, and a jar of Alfredo sauce. You don’t have to […]
Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip ~ Another Easy Superbowl Appetizer
I’ve been on a dip-kick lately, which is super convenient because the Super Bowl is this Sunday! I so don’t care, but I guess I’m always down for some funny commercials and some finger foods. Tuesday, I shared with you a yummy Queso Dip recipe. But, then I wanted to give you an idea for […]
