Get the kids in the kitchen to help make this fun and easy Halloween treat for toddlers. These OREO bat treats take 3 ingredients and 5 minutes to put together.
Oh, hi there! It’s Liz from Liz on Call, and I’m excited to share with you this Halloween treat. These would be great for a Halloween school party, family party, or just for any random day in October that could use a little sweetness.
My kids love helping in the kitchen, so anytime I can get them involved, I do. Making holiday treats is one of the best ways to get the kids cooking in the kitchen. I think it’s the perfect opportunity to get to really know them and what goes on in their everyday while they are at school. My son is not a big talker about what goes on at school, so anything I can do to get him to talk about his day, I’m going to do more of.
Easy Halloween Treat for Toddlers ~ Oreo Bats
I had made a few of these before they got home so they could see how cute they were. Once they saw them, my daughter asked if she could make some. These OREO bat treats really are super easy to make. My 5 and 8 year old could do it on their own. My 3 year old needed me to help her a little more, but she loved putting the eyes on.
Here’s what you’ll need to make these OREO bat treats:
- 1 package OREO cookies (we used the Halloween ones)
- candy eyes
- Icing Gel tube
Directions:
Take 1/3 of the OREOs and twist them apart and scrap out the filling and break the cookies in half. Using the icing gel, add 2 dots to the front of a whole OREO cookie and then add the eyes. Using the gel icing, add a smile. Take one of the broken cookies and stick it into the side of the OREO into the middle of the filling. The cookie may shift, just hold on the top as best you can. Then add the second broken piece to the other side to create the wings.
And that is it!! Super easy Halloween treat for toddlers, and so adorable. This will make about 24 OREO bat treats.
I’m all about cutesy Halloween and these fit the bill perfectly. Another adorable Halloween treat we just made were these black cat cupcakes. My kids got a good laugh when they saw these.
Do you love cute holiday treats? Which holiday is your favorite?
Happy assembling! ~ Liz
